I wish these EDC 25's and 27's came with the red-light feature like the P18
@jaminjim444 ай бұрын
Absolutely should have a red! A UV would be cool to, shoot their is another new one angleyes or something that has both uv/red and a 3000mah battery and fully waterproof I want to say. I ordered the EDC25 wishing I had ordered the EDC27 kinda. Theirs features I like on each lol but had to chose one and that’s what I went with. The angleyes I didn’t see till after I purchased the 25. Still think o would have went with the 25 idk why but just would have. Great video! Thanks!! ✌️

With the Self-Defense-Strobe-Mode, and Half-Lockout-Mode, this has instantly become my new favorite EDC rechargeable flashlight [until they make the next best thing]. Keep up the good work @NitecoreStore.

Problem is, these ship in locked mode, and the unlock procedure doesn't work like the instructions say, or like it's printed on the side of the light. So you're stuck with random button pressing for five minutes before the light actually works. *Here's how it actually works...* To half-lock: 1. Turn the light on by fully pressing the small power button down until it clicks. Let it go. 2. Half-press and hold the power button. *DON’T press all the way in until it clicks.* 3. Lock light flashes once. *Stop pressing!* To fully-lock: 1. Turn the light on by fully pressing the small power button down until it clicks. Let it go. 2. Half-press and hold the power button. DON’T press all the way in until it clicks. 3. Lock light flashes once. *DON’T stop pressing!* 4. Lock light flashes second time. Now stop pressing. To unlock: 1. Half-press quickly once, then half-press again immediately and hold. *DON’T press all the way in until it clicks.* 2. While you're holding the button halfway down, the blue lights light up sequentially. *Hold until all four are lit, and the light has come on in low mode.*

The instructions say first thing to charge it and when you charge it, it unlocks and works properly

The EDC 27 and 25 are amongst my favourite edc lights. However, I thought when I first got the 27, it was faulty as it kept turning on in my pocket when I thought it was locked. When you charge these lights, it disables the lockout feature, so you need to lockout again when charging is complete. No one tells you this.

i see Sysmax screwed up the yet lockout again. the 27 was great, but the lockout gymnastics made it suck. not to mention, the proximity sensor didn't work. i see the 25 still has the stupid half lock out.

For me, I like the edc27 a lot better due to my required usages.

Wish It had physical lock switch like EDC33 then You won't need proximity sensor and safer in the pocket

I appreciate your review, that you didn’t try to avoid or rationalize the obviously crappy clip. Maybe when they get smart, I’ll think more on this. Right now, my NU11 is a much better EDC at $14 for two

I’ve been looking at one of these since I first heard about it’s release, and this video has taught me things that I didn’t know. This is an excellent overview. People need to know all of these things before spending their hard earned cash on a big purchase and you’ve covered everything. Nice one.

As I set here holding my beloved EDC27 I mourn the deletion of OLED display on the newer version, How Dare You Nitecore! 🤣🤣 What the hell? My EDC27 has No problem stepping down with the Proximity (bounce) sensor. I am calling shenanigan's. Long Live the EDC 27!

Well you didn't hear it for me but another reason I didn't consider it a true upgrade is there may or may not be a true upgrade (with screen) in the works, or maybe there isn't, who knows
@Rzombie235 ай бұрын
The screen is the main reason i have a EDC27, personally I’m sick of the little indicator lights for remaining runtimes.

IP rating is comparatively very poor. Most quality lights these days can be submerged with no problem, this can only stand up to light rain.

@danielguerrero24265 ай бұрын
how many more generations need to be made before Nitecore trashes the proximity sensor???? How about that TM9k pro? Does the proximity sensor completely disable lumen shield if a bit of lint or whatever ends up on the lens? Would I need to carry lens wipes with me? Would lumen shield be disabled at all times in rain and snow?

If used properly, yes, it is, but don't set it on something hot like an engine, and try not to ignite anything with how bright it can be!

Yikes, yeah, I definitely did! There were a lot of lines I had to rerecord. EDC27 has been burnt into my memory because of how much everyone likes it and it's muscle memory to say that instead of EDC25, and more technical terms definitely made this a tricky film shoot!

Your conclusion was a muddled mess. After citing your opinion of the superior functionality of the 25 over the 27 in nearly all instances, to deny the upgrade status was just silly given everything else you said.

I LIKE NITECORE.I WISH THEY MADE SOME LIGHTS WITH NO USELESS/SILLY BURST MODES. ( OR AT LEAST A MODE THAT DIDNT HAVE THEM) WITH JUST ROCK SOLID REGULATION AT EACH LEVEL. NO USELESS SOS/STROBE. A LIGHT (OR MODE) THAT WAS 3-4 STAGES ALL START TO END REGULATED. AN 1860 CAN BE 700(ISH) FOR AT LEAST AND HOUR.350 FOR MANY HOURS.100 FOR 7-8 HOURS. AND A LOW WITH A COUPLE OF LUMENS. MY ENTIRE TEAM WOULD BUY THAT LIGHT. I GET THAT THESE HIGH LUMEN NUMBERS SELL TO SOME PEOPLE....EVEN WHEN SAID MODE IS 5-10 SECONDS ( THAT ALSO WASTES PRECIOUS BATTERY) FOR MANY PROs...WE DONT WANT OR NEED THESE BURSTS/SOS/STROBE. THE THOUGHT OF A SLIM/LIGHT 21700 LIGHT WITH THE ABOVE STATS...MAKES ME EXCITED. NITECORE...PLEASE MAKE THIS TYPE OF LIGHT ( OR MODE) YOU WONT HAVE TO DEAL WITH HEAT ISSUES ...THIS WOULD MAKE THINGS EASIER FOR YOU :) OUTSIDE OF "HDS" NOBODY MAKES LIGHTS LIKE WE WANT.
