Now that we're seeing a lot more customized options available with the docking station, this opens up a whole new world of possibilities. The docking station has really grown on me lately, it looks awesome and definitely functions really well!!

Could someone comment on the problem of slipping with this rack? I ordered it, but the clamps won't hold. I put my small splash on first, using the clamp that shipped with it, splash weighs really nothing, but it just slips around to the front of the bar. Tightened the clamp hard enough to mark the bar. My friend is a grip in the film industry and said no way chrome clamp on chrome bar is going to hold, i need something he called "shark tape." Gibraltar help contact said get the memory locks. Brent, could you list this in the parts needed? No way the clamps are going to hold my 18" crash, or either of my toms without some kind of insert to give the clamps some grip. I just feel like for people who've never had a rack before, and this is their first one, Gibraltar should be telling them they're going to need something for grip. Thanks!

Hi there Any updates on the slipping issue? I intend to buy the docking station and I'll have both my rack toms mounted off of one clamp, so this is pretty concerning!

@@sir_rage_a_lot9783 I used double-sided high friction tape (like gaffers's tape) and taped inside the clamps, then used the locking rings. It helps a lot. I bought a more traditional, ridged rack for my newest drum kit (Starclassic Mirage) and no issues with that system - so I think it is definitely the smooth surface of this rack that is the issue. I will say that the curved shape of the docking station gives me a lot more flexibility, though, on getting the toms low and following the curve of the bass drum on the right hand side. Hope this helps.

Why do you always show the bent bar with the bend going up, instead of down? If it's up and you need to swap or do any work on your double peddle, that bar is in the way from simply lifting the peddle out. I always have the bend under my double peddle bar. Keep up the great innovations going. Love my Gibraltar gear

There's some guys on sweetwater review saying it doesn't fit a 22inch bass drum and the clamps move because there's nothing to bite into on the bar.

Thank you for the comment. Yes it will fit a 22” bass drum. It is a little snug and takes a little time to adjust it and get it set up the first time. Depending on how your spurs are positioned and how they protrude from the bass drum, you have to adjust the T clamp on the foot frontwards or backwards to fit your drum right. This will change the position of the bar over the bass drum, while fitting underneath the spurs.

Have one on the way; looking forward to tinkering with it. I'm considering trying to attach the snare, floating-style, and the kick via the tom port, then slap some casters on it and be able to roll the core kit around. Maybe a floor tom and hi-hat solution in the future.

​@@GibraltarHardware Ooh... I'll have to check that out. I've been tinkering with mine constantly. I'm leveraging a couple Yamaha 3-hole mounts on either side, but am debating adding multiple rack clamps instead. It's sturdy enough now, but piling on too much in one spot can put a lot of torque on one multi-angle multi-clamp and I'd rather not push my luck. BTW, I could get on board with some rack clamps suited for 7/8 tubes that don't swing open. When setting up, it's quicker/easier to slide a cymbal boom (w/ memory lock) into place than fiddling with the open grabber and butterfly/washer design. That and I inadvertently pinned an open one up against the shell of my kick because it swung open and I didn't realize it. First world problem, sure, but thought I'd mention it. Having said that, your gear and related DIY videos are fantastic!

Regarding Cymbal Mounts that work well with the docking station: you'd probably need one where the height is adjustable

Just bought the stealth bent bar, snare basket, mini tleg and right angle clamp and it's still missing a clamp to attach it to the mini tleg, I see now it says 2 in the description, Wish it was called out in the video before I ordered.

hard to find 24 and no 26 inch docking station have more than 0ne drum will you make them cant find in maryland. Summers

Thank you for the question. I have been receiving a lot comments like this. In watching these videos, it looks as if I am the only person in the room. However, I am sharing this 12 x 12 room with 2-3 other people when shooting for hours at a time. I am wearing this mask for the safety of myself and my family, who have pre-existing conditions that could be very dangerous from complications with Covid-19. Plus I want to take into account the health of the other people I am sharing the room with and along with their families.

I don't know if Brent or anyone thought of it, but wearing the masks in these vids, together with others who do it, will mark a(nother) period in our existence we wished never occurred. To not be forgotten. Even if one day Google wishes to delete them because it doesnt fit their narrative for some reason. About this rack: I would very much like to hear from Gibraltar if they think it's technically possible to also present this curved bar in 3 pieces so that the parts fit into a normal hardware bag.

We have a Docking Station that will fit with a 24” bass drum coming available in October. The current version can just as easily be used with a 20” bass drum as well.

Brent, I have a custom job for you. Take a kit the size of the Yamaha Stage Custom Hip. use a docking station, leg less snare, leg less hats, double pedal, add the hardware for a Yamaha EAD 10, and at least 3 cymbals. I may add a 14" floor beside it (shouldn't affect the rack). Also come up with a way to shore up the smaller (20 x 8) kick, so it does not move. The EAD 10 may be replaced with individual mics (maybe include mic mounts. LOL.) Must be easily transportable. Come on impress me!!

I almost got the Docking Station but, opted for GCS375R Front Curved Rack with Side Wings. It has a slightly larger footprint but, I have zero cymbal or tom stands on the ground. Easy, consistent set up/tear down and looks super tidy. On a side note: If you insist upon wearing your beer bug deflector while shooting the video, why not just narrate over it in post production? You realize we can't see your lips moving and that way your voice won't sound needlessly muffled.
