Not only do I appreciate your instructional videos, I love your approach - straight forward and honest (and with a sense of humor). Thanks so much.

I last played competitively in 1974 when I have to decide between getting a place in high school or playing tt. We already used the bicycle glue on Butterfly Sriver way before that. That is the only glue we knew of. We didnt know it created more bounce.

At least for Revolution 3, the more goue you put, the easier it is to peel off in one single pull. They have a bideo on KZbin that show the insane amounts that they recommended to glue rubbers. I made some tests but can't get it to dry in a reasonable amount of time if I use this quantity though. It might be due to humidity in the air where I live.

very appreciated video thank you!🙏🏻 in my opinion there's a strong point to consider also, I have re glued a Rozena with the original BT FreeChack and I noticed that the glue have made soft and bouncy again the sponge! what I mean is: all this independent glue will have too a softening and rejuvenating effect on sponges? this could lead to very different characteristics playing...

Can you please provide some advice on removing old glue from soft sponge rubber?

Which glue do you know that stays sticky after drying? For example Donic Vario Clean is like that, it stays quite sticky after drying (it's difficult to remove, but I don't care about that). So yeah, do you know any glues that remain sticky?

All the glues in the video are contact glues so they all get sticky/tacky when dry and then are pressed together.

In most articles and videos I miss the option of using a glue stick (Pritt, Stylex, Pelikan, etc.). Such a glue stick has many advantages and thus avoids the disadvantages of commercially available table tennis rubber glue: - practical to use: no sponges required. Simply apply with the stick and you're good - the adhesive in a glue stick is not a "contact adhesive". And that means that you don't let the glue dry first...and corrections to the placement can be made immediately after mounting, which is a huge advantage, especially when re-gluing cut rubbers. - the glue in a glue stick is water-soluble, easy to remove completely with a wet sponge in seconds! Ideal for those who glue a lot, like to change rubbers often and experiment with materials. - glue sticks are significantly cheaper However, a rubber glued with a glue stick should dry overnight after assembly, under light pressure. But then the rubbers hold just as well as those glued with TT glue. Surely, a couple of books are sufficient for the required light pressure. But a good rubber press, for example the Bp24 or Bp24Pro, is much more comfortable.

So, we can use glue stick? Or any other school glue? Is it practical sir?
@ardane_com
@ardane_com Жыл бұрын
@@barrynolan4180 Yes, you can use a glue stick or any water soluble similar glue. It is VOC free glue, so perfectly legal to use. It is practical in a sense that you don't need a sponge to apply, you can adjust the rubber for at least 10 minutes after mounting it and the glue is very easy to remove. Disadvantage is, that the racket with the mounted rubber needs to dry for about 12 hours (over night) under light pressure before using it in practice or game situations.

You can’t use normal PVA white glue. It’s a white contact glue specifically for fitting table tennis rubbers.
