Omg this made me remember that one time my mom and I went to this chinese restaurant and we ate from the buffet. After we were done, we got our receipt and it said that she had to pay for two adults. I was ten at that time and my mom got so angry because she didn't understand why a ten-year-old had to pay the adult price. So she quickly demanded to see the manager of the restaurant and all hell broke loose when he tried to explain to her that only kids under 10 had a discount. She screamed at him for about ten minutes saying stuff like "She's ten years old, how the hell could you see her as an adult?!". Long story short, she didn't have to pay anything for my meal that day.

Vanessa Vitecek While I'm glad your mom was caring & involved... I gotta say that's a real jerk-move to pull on the restaurant. Sure, they could've had that policy written somewhere more obviously, like the menu, so there was no confusion... But policy is policy. One of my jobs involved the age limit for "adults" being 12. "12 = Adult?" you might say? But whatever, have to draw the 'line in the sand' somewhere.

This was beautiful! It reminded me of when I was in the 6th grade and I got into a fight after a kid pushed me. The principal called my dad out of work after they called the police. My dad walked in and saw me in the office with a bloody lip, looked up and saw my assistant principal with two officers at his desk. He walked in and asked me if I started it. I did not. Legitimately. He walked up to the desk and asked what the officers were doing there. The assistant principal said that he had called in the police because I had been in too many fights and it was a problem. My dad says "but he didn't start it." The principal says "but he participated in it." So my dad walked around the desk to his chair, stares him in the eyes (right in front of two police officers) and says "how about I start beating the sh!t out of you and let's see how long it takes before you try to defend yourself." The officers did a little chuckle and they were definitely on his side. They seemed annoyed to be at a middle school dealing with a scuffle from a 13/14 year old.
