Great visual on how fast and sneaky incoming tides can be! They say never turn your back on the ocean, but it's impossible to keep an eye on every angle. The channels fill up whilst you're looking in another direction, it happens so quickly. Often the sea is rather loud when the tides come in, but this was rather quiet and unassuming. The possibility of hidden channels and quick sand make me glad on I'm on terra firma! Glad you made it back safely, you were running so fast, I thought you'd take flight, :)!

Even in Italy, were the difference between low and high tide is only 4 meters max, you can see the tide raising with your naked eye.

I ve fished along the beaches of North Wales coast quite a bit, and have been caught out like this a few times. Luckily like this, nothing too serious, although I did get semi-stuck in quick sand once on Talacre and that was a little scary...What a lot of people don't realise is that these beaches change quite often, usually after a storm, but sometimes just after a high tide...An area that is quite safe one week can suddenly become prone to cut offs the next.....

That was both alarming and amusing. Thanks for a great visual warning of how fast a tide can come in which can put a person in danger. 😆😨👍🏼

The problem of quicksand arises in that although you can see to cross a channel containing just a thin covering of water the sand base is already sodden by the rising "groundwater" and it could result in you getting stuck and being unable to move as the tide rises..personally I would have picked up my dog as you effected your escape as the last thing you want is separation from your best friend

The dog loves the water..and is a better swimmer, plus tide would have carried her in not out. I just find tides really fascinating but am aware NEVER..take them for granted.

Yep! Ankle deep in quicksand is deep enough!

Not all beaches are quicksand vulnerable. I have fished, waded, dug bait on beaches for 40 years on the South and East coasts of England and can honestly say I have never come across it. Sure it exists where the water is not draining, but with a lot of steep or shingly shorelines, you won't have that problem. That beach looked solid. A little bonkers hanging around on that bit of beach, though fast forward to a hot summer day and this film would be about a pleasant bit of paddling in shallow water.

Good that you only got wet feet because you knew what the tide is like at Rhyl. Lovely sandy beach.
