seriously uncrimped connections like the first are outlawed for flexible wire by regulations for a reason, the individual strands may break bc they are much more susceptible to wear and therefore tear so this connection is a safety hazard. Soldering is equally outlawed bc solder flows under stress/pressure, leading to an equally unsafe connection. (electrical engineer, German regulations)

When connections need to be temporary, can’t be soldered, or have a high chance of being damaged feral connectors are the way to go never had a problem with them pulling out when bare wires easily do (Frc team member)
