Another example if you wanna know is other actors in Kamen Rider Build. Inukai Atsuhiro was an mc of BL, Man Who Defies World of BL. Akaso Eiji was also mc of BL, Cherry Magic. Ījima Hiroki who was Kamen Rider Ex-aid, also in a BL titled Our Dining Table.

You're right to think that, because its also very possible that it was not boring for many others, myself included depending on what kind of stories you enjoy. Personally, I enjoy storytelling that is not too obvious, that is mature and lets you think a little, stories that avoid being too gimmicky, that are well acted and directed. This BL was all that and more.
