Hi, our dog has seasonal allergies to grass pollen in the spring the past two years. I highly recommend having your vet give your dog the "Cytopoint" injection. It stopped him from licking his paws. Another option is "Apoquel" but that is a strong anti-allergy drug that can have side effects. Ask your vet to start with "Cytopoint". Good luck.

Hi Kyla, this is a "looped" video of a very short one minute long video of him licking his paw. I put peanut butter on his paw to get him to groom himself. I repeat the short 1 minute clip hundreds of times in a video editing program to create a long video. Some people like to fall asleep to these long looped videos. Hi Sophia, I would tell your friend to ask their vet about Cytopoint. It is an injection that helps stop the itch. My friend's dogs have been much better since getting it. I doubt it is a food allergy. It is probably the grass or a pesticide on the lawn. Good luck. :)

Hi Rhonda, I've had friends with dogs that chew on their paws or lick non stop. They've had good luck with Apoquel and Cytopoint. I would try Cytopoint first since it is not actually considered a drug. Cytopoint is a natural antibody that blocks a specific itch receptor in the dog's brain. Apoquel could have side effects like developing tumors. I shave the fur in between my dog's pads to give him more traction on our wood stairs but also to keep his paws dry so he doesn't develop yeast or bacteria after swimming. If your dog's paws smell musty or like Fritos, it could be a yeast infection. Our dog had a yeasty smell a few years ago after a vacation at the beach with lots of swimming. Our vet had us use an anti-fungal shampoo. Here are the two shampoos we've used in the past - Curaseb Antifungal & Antibacterial Shampoo - amzn.to/2Ypw7jT Dechra Miconahex + Triz (almost same active ingredients) - amzn.to/31g1RVs They both worked really well. The Dechra antifungal wipes are also good for cleaning their paws and pads after a walk in wet grass - amzn.to/2YD38UN Good luck with your dog. :) I hope he feels better soon.
