Cutest Robot ever: Can this pet robot cure your loneliness? | Testing pet robot "Lovot"

Can robots be real friends and cure loneliness? In Japan, robotic pets are becoming more and more commonplace. Thanks to AI technology, the skills of companion robots are evolving fast. Artificial Intelligence software helps them adapt to their owners - and even develop their own personality.
We got the chance to test one of the most technologically advanced robots on the market: "Lovot" was designed by Tokyo based company Groove X. And we asked its creator why robots should learn to understand human emotions.

It's supposed to be its "horn" (I know it's a camera) but to me, it looks like they're all wearing top hats, which makes them look even cuter.

He forgot to mention the necessary $90 monthly maintenance fee that you'd pay for. I dislike that some of these newer robots are fully dependent on that sort of thing because what if the company suddenly goes out of business or that the technology becomes obsolete after some time?

I can say i have been in the past deeply depressed, So depressed you'd probably be shocked I'm still alive today. When you reach that point in depression a cute anything only makes it worse. You feel as if all the joy in everything has been drained and anything that offers joy just makes you think about how much you don't want to feel anymore. That being said this definitely has some uses for loneliness just be careful offering this to people with extreme depression because things that make you happy can easily make you just as sad.

Something about this robot makes me sad. It's so cute and innocent looking, and looks to be so full of life and love... And yet, it isn't real. It's simulated. It's incapable of feeling real love. It's just a copy of what we think companionship is.
