New Milford, Washington Depot, and New Haven were the inspirations for Gilmore Girls. As cute as Essex is, It had no part of inspiration in GG.

This isn’t true, either. The town in Gilmore Girls wasn’t based on any specific town. Fans believe the gazebo in Gilmore Girls looks like the one in New Milford - but there are lots of similar gazebos across Connecticut. And New Haven was most certainly not an inspiration, it’s a gritty city that has no parallels to the town in Gilmore Girls at all.

I know all three towns. Of the 169, there are at least ten more. That said, my wife and I often ate at the Griswold Inn. Many memories. Thank you for sharing!
