This is so nice! I cant wait to try! You know what music I cant seem to find anyone playing with whistles? Professor Layton's songs. It's by far one of the best game soundtracks ever and I always wanted to play the tunes and I think they could be nice in the whistles but I dont even know if u can play them in whistles or not. Oh well

Do you have advice for playing with a metronome? Like you I can read music but not at playing speed so I like the way you teach. But without sheet music I struggle to figure out the time signature or main beats of pieces. Thank you!

Thanks Steph. I am just getting started with the tin whistle and was wondering what you are using for the tabs display and metronome. Is it the same software? Do you have any recommendations? Possibly a topic for another video maybe...
@CutiepieTinWhistle4 жыл бұрын
Hi Colin, I have a video here with a few ways I've used to make tabs: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qojci3uurKuehdE As for the metronome, you can download a metronome app on your tablet or smartphone, or just type metronome into KZbin and you'll find various speeds. You can also find bohdran drum tracks to practice with.

Did I see correctly, when the note says all holes covered but the top one are you covering all holes and blowing harder? If so is all holes covered the same note as the all covered but the top hole...low D verse high D?
@fionaburford54824 жыл бұрын
Some whistles don't require you to lift your top finger when you play D in the second octave. So I'd try both on your whistle and see which sounds best.

Nice rendition but gosh darn I HATE tab. I play guitar, mandolin, and whistle and hate tab on all of them. I learned to read notation when I was a kid and it's just so much easier to play from notation. The phrasing and timing are clear on notation. Works for any instrument. It's even fairly easy to transpose in your head from notation. I can easily play a tune writen in Bb in D from notation just by transposing while I play.

You can find sheet music for most of the tuness with a quick Google search, do you shouldn't have much problem there 😊 I don't read sheet, so I'm offering a different way to play for those that want to mostly learn by ear 👍
