Hi Stephanie, now after 5 months since I started to play the tin whistle, I noticed that learning new tunes has become easier, so I figured I can try something more challenging. This one is probably still very much out of reach, but it sounds very nice and why not start early. I do wonder though, while you play this, do you know the whole tune by heart or do you look at the fingering chart from your notebook while you play? The shorter tunes can easily be learned by heart, but this one is quite big and requires a fair amount of replay to memorise fully I reckon.
@CutiepieTinWhistle Жыл бұрын
I ALWAYS look at the notes 😂🤣 but then I don't really need to 'learn' tunes, as once I've made the tutorial, I don't really need to play them again...

I don't provide musical score, I create tin whistle tabs. You can find those linked in the video description 😊
@UKBROOKLYN2 жыл бұрын
Hey.. I mostly enjoy your videos but can't understand why you always use tabs instead of notation. Or at least show both together. Music notation is way easier to read and includes dynamics. Surely running the notation below the tabs would aid in a beginners understanding and open them up to greater knowledge of musical structure.
@CutiepieTinWhistle2 жыл бұрын
Plenty of reasons: I don't read sheet 👍 There's usually a bit of a copyright issue sharing it freely. You can buy musical score for a lot of the tunes I play though, and sheet for most trad tunes is available free too. As I play by ear, the notes I play don't always match the musical scores available perfectly, which tends to be more confusing for beginners! 🤣
@UKBROOKLYN2 жыл бұрын
@@CutiepieTinWhistle I think if you spent a small amount of time you would find learning to read a single line of music not a bit difficult. Because you can clearly play well. The advantage from learning to read a line is that it's so much easier to visualize the melody line. And then learn new tunes. BTW Theres really no copyright issue with Traditional melodies. Good luck and keep up the inspirational videos...
@CutiepieTinWhistle2 жыл бұрын
@@UKBROOKLYN it's not for lack of trying 🤣 I can tell you what note is on what line and the length of those notes, but I have to actually work it out in most cases, as my brain just can't distinguish the dots and lines. They blend into one and can't see which line each dot is on 🤣🤣 the same applies for tabs, far too many dots for me! But everyone has their unique learning styles. If you can read musical score you don't really need a tutorial, as all the information you need is right there on the page 😊
