@@doomarang3208 Lighter belonged to a mercenary group and because of his rash decision, he lost 3 people close to him. The 3 dog tags he wears are the 3 people he lost. He's an insanely loyal guy and had gone through a horrible episode of survivor's guilt following the years of his loss. After the mercenary group, the Sons of Calydon was his new family and the thought of losing Caesar reminded him of what happened during the Mercenary Group. Even more, in his trust event you watch the movie Nihility with him and it's revealed that he is afraid of feeling helpless. In the cutscene he couldn't stop Caesar from jumping into the flames; it made him afraid because he couldn't do anything. Then he watched Caesar fall into the fire, it made him sad because he remembered losing his family before. Finally, he removes his shades. He mentioned in his story that if he removes his shades, it feels like he's opening up old wounds. So there you have it.

Stop trying to analyze stuff without their greater context, because it just makes you come off as bitter and overly cynical for no good reason.

I see mostly everyone talking about Ceasar but notice how 1:09 Lucy literally jumps off in desperation only to get picked up by Lighter. While the 2 second scene is kinda funny it just shows you how much Lucy cares for Ceasar and despite a good ending being guaranteed it still hit me in the feels.

What's amazing about this scene is that, at the moment, you forget that they set up her surviving this with the legend of the first Overlord because they did such a great job with it. Also, if you think about it, Caesar did die in that lake. The insecure, directionless, not ready Caesar died in that fire, but what arose from the ashes is the new (acting) Overlord Caesar

I NEED THE FULL SONG NOW HOYO Also, I know it’s a bit cheesy but the whole “she sacrifices herself and then comes back” still gave me chills, even if I knew she was surely coming back, it’s about the execution of the whole thing accompanied by the choreography , voice acting and music Caesar speech about those with nowhere else to go was heartfelt The whole super smooth falling animation with the song lyrics kicking in and the line “Don’t look at me like that, because I will start to feel afraid” gave me chills and got me a bit teary even (I’m weak to this stuff ok?!) Then the bombastic comeback with the song popping back on with a fiercer tone instead of a somber one, I was smiling the whole way trough and was super pumped about it

This was absolute cinema. Everything about it. The shot composition, the animation, the expressions, and the voice acting. I knew she would be fine but I still teared up. Instead of being directly immersed in the Honkai canon, you actually exist as the captain of a ship roaming a time ocean that lets you visit any timeline and retrieve any individual from that timeline at any moment. As such, unless a character is cleanly erased from existence and made inaccessible regardless of time factors, everyone can be effectively pulled. HSR was to be considered a more uncertain case. You're assuming the role of a character integrated into the world and in the 2nd chapter (Xianzhou Luofu), a pullable character is declared MIA, presumed dead. Also in the 3rd chapter (Penacony), 2 pullable characters are identified as dream-realm entities who canonically cease to exist at the conclusion of the story arc. That said, Mihoyo probably can (and likely will) justify their continued existences in some way or another, whether it's through the canon "bad endings" you pick in the main story quests or some other development in the story that reverses the loss (especially considering the unexpected reveal in the most recent patch) ZZZ hasn't chosen to clearly kill off any of its playable characters yet, though there's one existing lore entity that could down-the-road justify doing so while keeping them accessible: the ionized doppelgangers. Depending on how the overall narrative plays out, you could have individuals die and become replaced by doppelgangers to keep a valid headcount.

i love how when the portal opens in the sky, and we hear the motorbike's sound, lucy recognizes it immediatly, while it takes a couple of seconds for lighter to realize it's caesar's bike. Goes to show how long lucy and caesar have been togheter.

what adds drama and epicness to this scene is the realization that Caesar could really die! no one knew that there was a rift under the lava. and she, without thinking for a second, desperately rushed towards death! and only at the very last moment, seeing Lucy crying, wondered what she was doing?... this is such a powerful scene in terms of drama and character spirit! bravo!

I would have loved this too because it would make the whole thing perfect Way more credible that Pompey can throw her in to the rift than Caesar casually falling in the right spot Thing is that as of now we have no example of ethereals being able to retain their original personality nor control themselves (even the “sacrifice” was feral despite being a more unique ethereal) Like yes, Pompey ethereal form surely had some of his aspects, but absolutely not his thoughts, memories or desires (protecting the Outer Ring) I feel that at some point we will get someone that retains their humanity in whatever capacity, but it might be too early for that plot point
