I'm sorry to hear you're having to go through that headache!! That's your artwork and you should have access to it, to copy or convert files over. I wonder if there's some legal recourse you have to regain access to your files. I would hope that they don't think they own the rights to your work. Not even sure who would oversee an issue like that, like a public works commission, but for companies like Corel Draw. I hope you're able to recover your files!! Best of Luck and Well Wishes!

I still own the files. I actually still own an older version of and because the files were created or saved with the newer version I have to upgrade to open them. There are programs that will convert my files but I need to make sure the files still work (like the text is editable )because what I've tried so far has been a no go. It's very frustrating

@@CuttinCornersVinyl Yes, that sounds like a real headache. They should give you a free trial upgrade for the purpose of resolving the issue of accessing your files. I would escalate your call to the highest executive level you can get to; it might take multiple calls to different people, but I would go above the heads of those who you've been working with thus far. You could try their supervisor, but I suspect you'll probably get stuck there too. Personally, I'd try calling their corporate office, you should be able to get some names of upper management level that way. Just be concise with what you tell them, maybe keep it to something like you've been having a problem accessing your files and IT has not been able to correct it and you need the issue escalated and you would like to speak to the director of either IT or Customer Service, or both. Beyond that, I'm not sure who would govern the company's business practices, but maybe reaching out to the BBB with a complaint and see if they could offer some advice. Just remember, the squeaky wheel gets the oil, cooler heads prevail, and you catch more flies with honey. Hope you get what you need!!!

I have used CorelDraw since CorelDraw 5.0 so early 90's. I have paid for upgrades every 2 or 3 years since. Every upgrade just changed slightly and the only thing that changed the most was the other included software. PhotoPaint was the only thing I used in the entire suite and since it isn't available as a stand alone I was forced to buy the whole package. Last CorelDraw I upgraded to was CorelDraw X5. Now upon reinstalling I needed the key reset since a popup stated it was installed too many times. They refused to reset it stating that it was older than 7 years and I need to purchase yet another upgrade. Never again. I have given Corel way too much money and I don't care if the software was written in DOS. If I pay for it and I choose to reinstall it no matter how many years down the line I should be able to. I never liked GIMP but I decided to install it today after fighting with Corel. The new GIMP as far as I can tell looks great and does everything I was able to in PhotoPaint and Adobe Photoshop. Not to mention that it's free!! I am 59 years old and am tired of shoveling out money to greedy software companies like Corel. May they become obsolete and unsupported as they claim the older software is.

Wow.. Betsy been watchin you for years but haven’t left a message. Your patient… i haven’t finished this yet but whoo… your patient… anywho I use pixelmator and pixelmator pro. Sure Cuts A Lot (SCAL) and the affinity suite. I have been for years. Hope you find your fix.
