I'll tell u what makes that 100 times faster.. go the pipe fitters and get a pipe wrap. Measure one mark, wrap the pile and line up the wrap. Take a sharpie and mark around the pipe. Take a sawzall with a short metal blade. Saw into pipe on the line and roll the pipe and u cut.. 40 seconds tops if u have everything in front of you.

Bro you can't do that with duct metal bc people have to handle that pipe and that'll cut the crap out of people's hands and or legs. Now you could have a point of you're using the duct work specific blades. Never used them idk what kind of edge they leave. Also it's a waste of time to mark all around the pipe. Connect the dots is all you need.

Double cut shears don’t leave any burrs, they don’t throw sparks and metal around either. Snips are good to cut the seam. Grinders are the kings of cutting any metal in any scenario. I like the double cuts the best, it’s the quietest smoothest tool we can use to cut tin. You can cut sheet metal with a dozen different tools, manual/power etc. I don’t mind using my snips either, in fact I enjoy using my snips any chance I can. At the end of the day, all I’m tryna say is everyone’s got their way of doing things. This is my way, that’s all.

@@PeterTheDestroyer the one thing you figure out as you get older it's not about what tool you use per say, it's about how many you have to carry, and the unnecessary things you have to do like pull 3 tools out to do one job. Sawzall and grinder both require 1 tool the snips while wonderful require 3 tools. Means you wasted time and movement pulling extra tools, which in the long run wastes time, and your body. Just like you made 15 marks with the marker when you could have made one solid circle and not even had to remove your tape off the duct. Most of the people here understand people like to do things each their own way, but at the end of the day everyone in the trade ends up using the same tools for a reason.
