I personally would have pushed the chaser in the direction it was intended to move......

Some chasers are for pulling, like Dewalt with battery.

Genuine question - are these things THAT much better than using a grinder? Okay, you only have to do one pass vs. 2 with a grinder. Also ... dust extraction. But still, more accuracy with a grinder? And easier to get a straight line after 4 beers?
@simonwinn-smith49725 жыл бұрын
No, not that much better. They cut far more slowly. The advantage is a nice clean consistently wide cut which makes it easier to install your PVC oval conduit. It's harder to cut a neat line with a grinder.

They are actually, if you use good chaser like Metabo and want to get the most of the dust in vacuum cleaner. That one is actually meant for pushing and has enormous power of 1900W as it is also made with double or triple blades in mind. I use wall chasers from 2014 and thought Bosch was decent and it kind of is at least compared to Makita which is like this Milwaukee meant for pulling. Man that chaser sucked balls. I tried Dewalt with battery, it was decent, no cable obviously is great hands on experience, but more power could have been useful when working on concrete walls. Was more expensive than Bosch and Metabo. Hilti was very similar to Metabo, but heavier and I am no big muscle guy, also expensive. So far settled on Metabo, working with it for two years, I am very glad with this tool, so easy to press against the wall, very little dust, the least I have experienced.

Absolutely shocking practices - no H&S and going backward with the chaser

how would you get the middle part out? chisel?
@simonwinn-smith49728 жыл бұрын
+Alan Bolanon With an SDS chisel bit. Either a scoop bit or just a standard 1" flat chisel. If the initial chase is uniform all the way down it doesn't take long to extract the material.

flinny OwO The wall Chaser that I use came with like a very thin flat metals chisel style tool you just stick it in a line and push it in and middle pushes out
@hzj79205 жыл бұрын
Or you could just use a wall chaser with 5-6 blades that cut a true channel without a fuss

@@pooddescrewch8718 It'd have to be on sale for a good price as the machine is nothing special really. The cheap brand ones are almost as effective.

Bizarre that this video has been watched so many times, it's a rubbish quick mobile phone video taken on a real job site, it's not a proper review and needs to be viewed as such. I would personally use PPE but each to his own. Dan still hears, breathes and sees just fine thankfully. Maybe I will upload some videos taken with more care and experience of tools used on the job, see if they get watched 100K times!
