Wild deer are usually very skittish. So, you're doing extremely well. Another free food source to consider in future winters are acorns if collected in fall after trees drop them. If you run out of reachable branches, a 50 lb bag of corn is still reasonably priced. The birds and other animals like this too.

So peaceful 😌. They are getting closer and closer to you. I hope that the doe has more fawns this Spring 🤞🏻. I haven’t seen the deer in my yard but every time it snows here there’s fresh deer tracks… sometimes on my sidewalk, Lol. I haven’t heard the Coyotes in awhile but the other night I heard 2 Owls “Hoot,Hoot,Hoot” for about 20 minutes. They were really close because I could hear them with my windows closed, furnace running, while I was watching KZbin 🦉🦉❤. I love it. Have a Great Night Everyone. ✌🏻❤️👩🏻‍🦱

How kind you both are to go out in the snow to feed the deer. Thanks to you they do not have to wander far, which could be harmful. They can stay close to one spot near your house! Hiw very cold it must be there, as I am way south in the US, and the artic air that is coming from Canada, will reach way down here.. so it really must be cold. Wouldn't it be kinder to the trees to just pull the leaves off the trees so it can grow back more throughout the year?. Tree branches don't grow back they just form a callous over where you cut, they might form more branches but cutting them makes the trees prone to disease.

the further north the deer are the thicker their winter coat is - when they shed it in the spring they will look more like your deer

You are going to step on your boot laces and trip! My home is a help yourself buffet for pruning, nipping, and girdling; I wish they would eat evergreen boughs. We usually babysit fawns in the Spring while Mama feeds elsewhere. The deer seem in good condition.
