Cutting flange off of railroad wheels

I have no idea who would be interested in watching this but I thought it was interesting. I was just walking around our shop and found one of our employees cutting the flange off of railroad wheel sets. I have never seen it before and probably will never see it again...so I thought I would record it.
We move railcars around our shop, off the rails but still on trucks/wheels. We cut the flange off of these wheels so the flanges wouldn't dig into the dirt/gravel.
Let me know what you think about the video. Complete waste of time? Interesting? Should we stop uploading random videos like this???
