Very good and timely video. Just assembled my Elite Foreman this past weekend. Going to be installing the waste board and t-track as soon as the delivery guy gets here. The tip on cutting in a groove in the t-track was definitely worth the whole video. Thanks!

for the under drawer - i would suggest putting some castor wheels on lengths to support the drawer front. that way, you can make it as deep as the table, while also keeping the drawer level even when filled with wood

I hope you will go into how well the Masso works it seems like people either love it or say it’s trash I’m always confused on if it’s a decent controller or not?
@netgeek3010
@netgeek3010 3 ай бұрын
I own a MASSO and it's more expensive then other solutions but Onefinity gives it to you as a part of the build that is a nice option. I built my own DIY-CNC and bought the MASSO from the company and it with options ended up costing around 2 grand. They have a forum where a lot of very experienced CNC operators that have extensive experience. The process of running the MASSO is just understand that the emergency switch gets used a lot so you may want to get another emergency switch ether as a backup or add it externally. I added the expansion board to reduce the number of wires going to the box down to two 24 pin parallel cables because there is a mountain of wires between the stepper motors drivers and to the MASSO again MASSO addressed this on the Onefinity by creating a NEMA 23/24 driver that basically runs on the top of the stepper. Well good luck and it's a lot of fun and not that hard. Oh one more I setup a must have a toolsetter "I bought a wireless one" and a probe again must have for setting material up.

Do you think you could run a 1/2 roughing bit on that unit? like your one video with the bowl you cut out?
@cutting-it-close

I don’t know, I think it could at slower speeds, but I’d run a 3/8 or 1/4 before running it with the 1/2” because no point if if I can’t get to the high speeds I want.

No it doesn’t swell or warp in my smaller machines. On my 5x10 it cups when it gets dry, so we have to flip it so the vacuum pump gets a grip.

What is your maximum z height of your end mill collet base on your spindle to the spoil board surface?
@cutting-it-close
@cutting-it-close 3 ай бұрын
I initially set it one inch above my table top without the spoilboard on it. I did so I could cut into the tabletop with a v bit. I then lifted it some so a 1/4 bit would not cut no more than .375” into my spoilboard in case I forget to z height it. So it’s now at 1” above my spoilboard.
@SailingCatamaranElement
@SailingCatamaranElement 3 ай бұрын
Thank you. The reason I ask, is I am trying to determine what the maximum potential depth of cut could be with z axis of your spindle at its maximum height. Do you think you could cut down to 6.25 inches with a 7 inch long endmill of 1/2 inch diameter? I am getting mixed answers from the onefinity online support regarding maximum z axis travel. I will not be using a spoil board for my potential project.

I know he will say it next week but I’m assuming a few things. 1. Have a machine that’s more affordable so his content is not that far out of reach. 2. He’s going to launch a cnc business program and wants to have a machine same of above that doesn’t seem out of reach to show a journey of launching your business. Either way needs more relatable content and a way to get people over to his program which can’t blame the guy because look at what he was able to accomplish.
