As someone who has done very similar things over the years. It's almost always a look of shock and pity. Also lots of laughter at my own expense. Luckily I have had good luck with hairdressers who kind of enjoy the challenge so they aren't too bothered.

This summer I went to an hairdresser because I accidentally fucked up with the razor and I could hear the hairdressers laughing at me while I was waiting. (Also, she didn't even make a good job)

My experience was pretty bad: He was like "you did a mess with your hair, is totally fried" yup, it was a bit fried and patchy but I went there saying it was HORRIBLE and I needed help. The bad thing is that THEY totally fried my hair at the end. I'd preferred if they said "you can do only one thing to not destroy your hair: go darker" than making me lighter. I mean, I trusted them and they said it was fine but it absolutely WASN'T. I had so many problems with that hair because I don't want to use polluting things to treat a dead stuff hanging from my dumb head and it needed a lot of products to hide de death 😂. I mean I am not even that mad at their behaviour, but mostly at the fact that they blamed ME for fucking up my hair. They were like "it was already fucked up" but when THEY were bleaching it a lot of hair FELL, and this never happened to me. I mean yup it was absolutely horrible but they should've told it was going to be so much more weak and lifeless. (I knew already about how bleach works but I was trying out Olaplex [PS: SO EXPENSIVE] for the first time and I had many hopes in it so I trusted them)

As someone with experience in accidentally giving themselves a mullet - putting your hair in a ponytail on top of your head and cutting it straight across will give you a mullet.

By cutting this way you'll get just a layered haircut. A mullet is more like a pixie cut on the front and crown part, with an extended fringe, and with layers on the back. Hope this helps someone I'm a hairdresser with a mullet btw 😊

I’m a hairdresser pls ... to cut a mullet you need to connect the top layers to the fringe - pull the fringe section straight up and cut across - match each section - and over direct the sections toward the back to keep it longer
