Chicago subway had a record making booth when I was a kid. Worked pretty good.

Well for me am a boombap rap artist and screen printer, but funnily enough I love your theme sounds, the awkwardness and retro video games sounds makes it unique.

I love the music, and because of this video I just purchased way too many of the pocket operators to use to make my own backing tracks for my videos. Thanks!!! Keep making great content!

Awesome! I would check out Red Means Recording if you're looking for some in depth tutorials on the pocket operators.

Yup i subscribed to that one! I’ve been watching his videos along with Andrew Huang, Free Beat, and Ricky Tinez. Can’t wait for mine to arrive so I can start playing with them. And definitely using them to create music for all of my screen printing videos on my channel moving forward. Thanks for the inspiration. Had no clue these things existed.

@@joshisterrific I found out the low needs to be eq'd further down from where you have it, the mid eq dropped way down to almost nonexistent & the high kept in a normal range to avoid that wobbly audio. A way to make sure the audio doesn't hiss as much from the original cut is to slightly bind the forks either side of the recording needle, smear a small amount of lighter fluid over the whole plate & wipe it down after a minute; then cut another track. You'll be happy with the decrease in hiss & the warble almost completely gone (if not gone entirely) in playback.

When I first found you, I kept watching because of the music. Geez. Some people. LOL

Thanks! I find it funny when people comment stuff like that, but yeah going back I think I've gotten a little better at making the background music over time.

@@joshisterrific I kind of like the older stuff better. But I'm almost 50, so that "simple", old school video-game style stuff hits a chord with me, I guess.

How does it sound through a decent record player? The same?

Price wise it'll be the same if getting the Gakken when living in Denmark. There's an annoying postal tax to pay for overseas orders.

Also be aware that TE appear to be no longer stocking the records, which is frankly pretty poor of them, having just recently releasing the player.

umm, yeaaaaaah no... I was "semi-ok" with it up until finding out it's a blatant rip off of a japanese kids toy. Even if they try and use the "Collab" excuse this is still far from what teenage engineering is all about. This is not cool innovation. It's just cheap imitation plain and simple. They paid next to nothing for this to slap a pricey name on it for money. It just sucks and they should know better!
