I can’t believe Margaret agreed to let you cut her hair. She is a trooper!!! My wife will never ever agree to that. Haha. You did an excellent job John. It looks great!!I wouldn’t even know how to start if you asked me to! Haha. Too bad I just missed my haircut appointment. I think my hair will be as long as Margaret’s once we come out of this quarantine. Margaret should definitely cut your hair!! Just do it! Haha.

hahaha she wasn't letting me. She made me lol she came up with the idea. I was so nervous. I was afraid of messing up her hair. I missed my appointment by a week too. She's been trying to cut my hair for a few days now... the pressure is mounting lol

My hair is an annoying combination of thick and a little wavy so if it's not cut in a very specific layering/thinning way I get this weird puffy triangle hair look. So I've been living in a pony tail until I can get a professional haircut. I very much relate to Margaret's nervous laughter lol. You did a great job with Margaret's hair John!

Yes here in LA California everything is temporary close like restaurant, schools, Disneyland, movie theaters, Sporting events and most of restaurant are just open for drive thru and pick ups and groceries stores.

yeah everything is temporarily closed here too! all the restaurants are carry out only. theater is closed. we really dont' go out anymore except to the grocery stores and wherever necessary. i hope you guys stay safe there!

Pretty rough technique. On long hair that is full, it should be sectioned, pinned up and trimmed layer by layer. There is no need to wet the hair, salons do that as they sell washes and many clients come in with dirty, greasy hair versus clean and dry. I have been having my guy cut my hair for me for years. I Take a seat on the stool, get caped, my hair combed out, sectioned just behind my ear on each side and pinned up. Hubby then trims the bottom layer first, then he lets it down in 1/2” increments to trim each layer to match the layer below. He cuts my thick hair in manageable amounts, as if you try to cut through too much hair at once, the blades push the hair before it cuts, leaving it uneven. So home haircuts are a great, money saving skill, but to get great results every time, it is worth getting the proper tools and supplies.

Yes, he is really good at cutting my hair. He has been doing it for me for years. Here is a great tutorial on trimming long hair. My husband trims my hair every other month, takes off about an inch. So rather than wait and chop off several inches, the minimal trims are not nerve racking. I actually enjoy the bonding time having him do my hair as I sip a glass of wine. No one ever notices that I had my hair trimmed, being he takes off so little. When he sweeps up the clippings before he uncapes me, there is not much in the dust pan, so there is no drastic change, just neatly trimmed ends.
