I this video I cutting open rocks with my 10" Hi-Tech diamond saw to see what they look like inside. I believe all of them are types of Agates, Jasper or Quartz. After looking into these more and with help from the comments I think the 2nd one is Gray Grey Jasper and I miss spoke calling the 3rd one a banded agate, it is a waterline agate. the 1st one might be a lavender quartz. The 4th I though might be a brecciated jasper but also had a suggestion that it was bloody plume. The 5th one I had a suggestion that it is calcite however I scrach tested it and got a hardness that is ~7 which makes me think its still quartz. Still looking into them and will update if i become more certain.

The first rock. It's not that it is so soft as it is VERY fractured.you could probably do micro-cabs for rings. I'd like a piece?!

Thank you. I looked #2 up and it seems like that would be what it is, appreciated you commenting. Being new to identify rocks I'm likely to get things wrong from time to time so I appreciate the help.

@@TheRockNoob Rocks that size (#2) ought to be cut on a 12" or 14" saw, like the Lortone Panther. You won't go through blades, and the cuts are perfect... you can adjust the feed speed and the slab thickness, too. Take care, man... have fun and keep us entertained with more videos.

After cutting that one I agree with you and I'm saving up to get a larger saw. Sometimes I can't help myself though and will try to cut rock I know I should wait on🤣

@@TheRockNoob eBay... or The Gem Shop... that guy is cool, and he rehabs older Lortones and Highland Parks into New saws, but a bit pricey.

I like your waterline agate! And the green stone is truly beautiful! Was the red stone coprolite?
@TheRockNoob
@TheRockNoob 7 ай бұрын
Thank you. With my limited knowledge on coprolites I can't say if it the red stone is or not, though I would be surprised if it was. I'm going to look into if further but without knowing were the stone came from I'm not sure if i will ever be able say for sure.

I have the green stone and it’s called Chrysoprase. It’s very hard to cut. I nought it from a local rock shop in my town.

I think you might be right, The stone was harder to cut through than what I would expect from fuchsite, but it was still fun to say fuchsite.😄

The picture rock was a close second for me, It's probably the nicer rock. I only picked the red one as my fave mainly because it just surprised me how nice it looked inside compared to how it looks on the outside. Thanks for watching.
