How we cut out a hole in our new laminate countertop from Lowes for our kitchen sink. Cutting out a hole for your sink is a super easy DIY. This Laminate countertop piece was under $200, really cheap for nice countertop makeover. If you are looking to remodel your kitchen on a budget this is a great option. For this project we did not replace the sink base but still had to remove it to install new countertop and replace it once the the hole was cut to the right size. Trying to save money but make it look better at the same time!

Very nice. If you ever have to do that again get a 2x4 and put it across the already cut portion of the sink and make it a little longer than the hole you’re cutting. Put 1 screw in the center of the piece you’ll be discarding and the piece won’t drop so hard. Great video!!

You sound like a really good mother... like the kind that the kids really get along with but still respect you and are scared enough of ya so they dont push you to your limit like i see a lot of kids do.. is like either a parent has to be the good cop or bad cop all the time, but when the kids see a parent as good cop but dont play with their buttons then you get an easy household... see too many moms pulling hair trying to stay sane.. lol

You're lucky the cutout didn't snap off prematurely ruining the laminate. Should use a 2x4 to brace it when halfway done for support. Didn't use tape. Hope it didn't splinter the laminate. Wifey's happy.

A bit late but you can't go wrong with Bosch laminate jigsaw blades.

How large a sink did you install? We have a 33 X 22 sink and it looks like it might be too large for the post form (molded) countertop.

what size is your sink? for some reason mine looks big here in this apartment I was rushed to live here but a guy had me get laminate countertop for bathroom sink

@@JennyBrett Goodness gracious that is a VERY BIG sink you got there!!! I ain't ever seen a sink that was 2 feet wide and 6 feet long!!! Bwahahahahahahahaa!!! He said, “sink” and you gave him your countertop measurement!!! He don't sweat it because we all make mistakes in life and I was just messing with you. The sink is probably somewhere in the 24”x36” range, if I had to guess. So, if it a the size that I am assuming then that would be 2 foot by 3 foot.
