I'm not a huge ACS guy, but they look good on the e46 chassis. I have used all variants of the pilots as well as r888's and had great results. Nice work on pulling the arches. Its really the best way to do it correctly imo. I've done it multiple ways and it'll truly be custom tailored to your width and offset choice.

@@driftworks One day, I will take the car to Gaz and get him to "finish" it... I now do most of the work on my car myself so appreciate how long things take to do things properly. I've got to the stage where any further parts I want have to be custom built, so Gaz will be the final step...

Beautiful I would have liked to see the process of finishing the quarters and modifying the rear bumper to fit like factory. That’s been my goal working on BMWS for 30 years and I will do whatever I have to do to make it look factory. Back in the 90s I was sticking e36 front bumpers on e30 I modified them to fit proper and it still had a bumper bar behind. I would weld a bar between the front bumper shocks. I worked in NASCAR on a cup team for 4 years. So it was like a race car bumper behind the front plastic. I don’t have any pictures since it’s been that long and my house fire destroyed all my photos. I had binders documenting each bmw I built. Of all the things I lost that’s the one I cared about. Anyway thanks Samsung for burning down my house. I had one in the house charging and was working on my M3 and I came into a smoke filled house and the smoke alarm didn’t go off until 10 minutes after I found the fire. It was only 3 months old. The fire started in my bedroom where I kept all my car stuff. I had about 30 1:18 scale BMWs models that they sale at the dealership. That’s an expensive collection along with 30k worth of watches. Also when the idiots that call themselves fireman pulled up in a fire truck with no water in it. So 2 other fire departments had to put it out. Also those cock suckers stole my class ring and a family heirloom ring that had my initials in it. I am RBMIV so the ring has been passed from the first RB to the 2nd etc. u can’t press charges on fire departments. The box the rings was right where it was supposed to be with all the felt burned off the box but when I opened it both rings were gone. You can’t trust anyone.

Hi Phil, what about the weight distribution of your build? Are there any differences in handling/feeling of a car between stock e46 with s54 and swapped s85 e46? If there are, is it possible to fix it and return the 'ideal' weight distribution made from factory?
@driftworks4 жыл бұрын
The engine is heavier so it does upset the balance. It's not possible to fix it, although my car is the best case scenario as the engine is further back than all the other conversions I know of in the world.

TOO much lip with those REbarreled AC’s on such a legendary build. I’ve been following from the beginning so presumably it’s essentially mine and how many other odd thousands other’s place and to say (HA! ... not) More of a wheel’s wheel on this... grabbing at strings trying to describe it but more arc8R / fikse / less lippy of a wheel/ wheel. Would be sicker on this.. lol 😅 Love this build 5ever. Take all I say lightly and lovingly bc I’m just spillin my opinion with appreciation for this bulld. I feel like a part of it as much as anyone else who’s been following since the beginning and it’s been a pleasure to see as a current 04 e46 m3 owner as well remembering this car from the glory days before mine was even in existence and this was an internet sensation in my eyes. Peace and love! The AC’s are great jus not digging the lip on such a gem. I’m out
