I'm surprised you haven't mentioned the Game Generation Zero, because your work reminds me of their design astectic for the Machines and of course the Metal Gear series and Armored Core

I played generation zero for a couple of hours earlier this year and metal gear definitely is a source of inspiration! Never played any armored core games though..
