I have the paramount pro with a nightforce nx8 yet I still find myself reaching for my wolf/Bushnell banner 2 combo everytime I go hunt shotgun zone. Such an amazing muzzlelloader! It's definitely a firearm I would never get rid of

What a good review. I also have a CVW Wolf. Bang for the buck. I use 100 grains of white hot and a 245 grain power belt green tip. I get 1.5 inch groups at 100 yards. I sight in 2 inches high at 100 yards. Covers most of my shots. Trying to kill a coyote this winter with it. Take care.

Sounds like a smack killing set up to me, best of luck!

I dumped mine into the mud when crossing a ditch. It still shoots fine and ended up with some battle scars

well, I'm a little unconventional...I use lose FFFG , yep...70gr and a Federal 270gr BRO copper bullet...sweet !! my little CVA Wolf likes it..

Love my wolf. I would get it with the CVA dead on scope mount and pick your scope. Personally, a VX Freedom 2x7 I think is ideal for most of us for deer. Don't care for the packaged scope.

Have you tried a patched round ball I've had success with the Traditions vortek which has a similar twist rate but I have to lower my powder charge to about 50 to 75 grains

no ive never messed with the round balls before but i might have to try that

How's the recoil?

She barks but the recoil isn't too bad at all in my opinion

You should take off the barrel from the frame to clean out the hammer/firing pin area. If you don't eventually the firing pin will seize up an won't fire the primer. I have a CVA Optima V2, don't like the barrel release in front of the trigger guard on the wolf. It's one problem that catches an will release the barrel when you don't want it to. Loose powder is also much more accurate than pellets! I recommend Blackhorn powder with Blackhorn breechplug.

Good point! I'll definitely have to do that. Thanks for watching

Also own a wolf.. love it. looking to replace my factory scope. what scope did you actually get. ? are you shooting over 100yrds? great vid.

wolfs are great guns! and it’s a vortex diamond back, has the nicest clarity for sure. and yes I shot a doe this year at 195 yds I usually sight my gun in shooting 3 inches high at 100yds that will put you dead on at 150yds and shooting 3 inches high at 50. thanks for watching and good luck!

where i am its just *4 MORE DAYS* of hunting deer with a blackpowder *OR SHOTGUN* compared with a normal rifle. i rather just get the buckshot out for those 4days and not buy a whole new setup just for 4days...
