Thanks for sharing this buddy. The only thing you did wrong with picking her up was you had you legs too far away from the motorcycle. That’s the mistake I initially made when trying to pick up Violet. I’ll be doing a follow-up video on this. Good job on those push-ups!👍🏾

Hello Stefan, good job on the video. Please note, you should raise the front and rear drop guards on the front and rear bars for 2 reasons. The lean angle of the guards is meant to also raise the bike up more and if you have them to low, the fasteners will strike the ground and could be damaged. If your saddle bags are stretch saddle bags they could contact the ground, although Robert Simmons has a video with stretch saddle bags which did not come in contact with the ground when his bike was dropped. We also recommend and have our students remove their saddle bags when training as anything can happen when a bike is dropped, even at low RPM speeds.

You need the primary guard. My friend dropped his 2022 CVO and it has scraped the underside of the primary. I had been nagging him to buy these guards for 12 months. Now he has a set arriving tomorrow.

Hi Stefan. You will do yourself damage trying to pick the bike up like tat! There are lots of instructional videos out there with petite women picking up tourers. Turn your back to the bike and use your legs. You could also watch Million Dollar Bogan as he is always dropping his Road King and picks it up with the proper technique. Still loving the Wilbers!

Hi Dean, good to hear from you! If you don't love your Wilbers anymore, I will personally show up in Sydney and rip it out of the CVO... You are right, there are many videos with girls (more attractive than me!) lifting dropped Harleys. There is also a good technique, similar to my fail. Next time I have the spontaneus idea to record a video, I will do some research before-I promise. Hope to see some new content from down under soon!

Great job on this video! I was considering the protection also, not only for slow speed training but in general. I find that the protection at the bags side are not sufficient with stretched bags…

Hallo Stefan, vielen Dank für deine authentischen Videos (hab deshalb auch das bitter notwendige Wilber’s Upgrade auf meine 2022 CVO gepackt). Ich folge auch Robert S., gerade hier in Europa macht das low speed practicing extrem viel Sinn. Hast du noch Erfahrungen zu den drop guards gesammelt und wo hast du die her? Habe lange in den USA gelebt und gesehen, dass es dort cleveres Zubehör gibt. Vielleicht kannst du das eine oder andere in deinem Kanal featuren (hab gerade das lid lock Video gesehen). Gruß, Thomas

Servus Thomas, vielen Dank für dein ausführliches Feedback. In zwei Wochen werden wir Robert wieder zu einer privaten Trainingsession besuchen, vielleicht macht er ja ein Video. Die Dropguards wollte ich wegen der Optik schon wieder abbauen und dann... Ich hab RHCP beim Slow Speed Practice mal kurz auf die Seite gelegt, dank Dropguards keine Schäden. Sonst wären Sturzbügel, Primärhousing und eine Ecke Koffer verkratzt gewesen. Ich hab direkt über die motorcycledropguards.com bestellt, da kann man auch Deutschland als Adresse eingeben. Allzeit gute (Wilbers-) Fahrt

Servos Stefan, the shirt looks good on you (even better than what it looks like on that NYPD Highway 1 motorman) :). You see, I listen to you. Funny enough, my brother in law just installed the drop guards (in chrome). The only issue is that I did not place the bike on the ground,,,,did not have the heart to do so. Be safe and fly and be well.

For the nut and bolt adjacent to the saddle bag I turned them around so the nut was on the outside. Simply because it provides more clearance for the saddlebag when you are removing it. I saw pictures of a much earlier dropguard with a different kind of nut that look similar to the bolt head so it gave more room next to the saddle bag. I think there must be a better fastener configuration to give more room between the dropguard and the saddlebag??? The point is to protect the paint so the last thing you want to do is scrape your paint when you are taking your saddlebags off.

They wouldn’t protect the extended bags completely, but the damage would be less. So I’m going to keep them on the bike.

I would removed the saddlebags when practicing slow speed turns. My stretched leather bags actually go over the bag guards a little. Ich empfehle die Satteltaschen zu entfernen fuer das Ueben von langsamen Maneuvern. Meine erweiterten Satteltaschen gehen ein wenig ueber den Schutz. Dieses zwei sprachige Kommentieren ist echt anstrengend. Ride safe 🤙

I cant believe those drop guards don’t protect the saddle bags completely because thats how they advertise them i also purchased the guards but have not installed them.

I just checked the advertisement, they show only bikes with regular saddlebags and regular (non CVO) engine guards. The two Specials with extended saddlebags have their bags removed.

@@stefansgarage3014 as always great content Stefan, I've been in the middle of a busy intersection picking up my recent CVO SG(I have 2021 CVO RG now) after being side swiped by an idiot motorist Glad I watched You Tube edits on picking up bike effortlessly- Its just a technique no strength needed, takes seconds, helps to reduce the public embarrassment if you pick up quickly-

@@stefansgarage3014 cheers Stefan, I wasn't completely honest, that wasn't the only time, the worst was in front of a large motor cycle gathering/outside bar Did a u turn too slow on gravel court yard in front of the audience, unfortunately the ground didn't swallow me up but I had bike back before any reached me to help and no damage Keep up the good work Oh yeah the Wilbers suspension you did does it improve handling for the more vigorous rider, particularly on winding roads Cheers Jim
