I saw this guy's animations about a year ago and I can see the big improvement, I saw a comment on a video on an animation this guy did a year ago about how lowering the shoulders on R6 makes it look more natural and how he should disconnect the arms from the torso more and I can see this animation taking that advice resulting in much more fluidity and overall makes the animation look better I approb.

He used highlights at 0:13 in order to make the characters stand out in said "impact frame" look, He probably added the smoke background during editing to let the characters blend in, he also added effects to spice it up a little. At 0:43, it's very likely lighting related which I don't exactly know much about.
