You operate in so many beautiful locations, yet now on field day we see your home ham shack, very nice. Always look forward to your videos. Mark KE0WNS

You need to mix your audio out into you DVR better. Audio is very low.

Nice! I also ran QRP / battery portable (with a single 100watt solar panel). I was camping at 5200' in central WA. Thanks for the FD QSO, always nice to run in to fellow SOTA buddies on the air during FD =) 73 de WU7H

Hey, Josh, thanks for the call (and all the SOTA calls as well)! I was torn about going out camping or not--with our heat here and just finishing a trip, decided to take it easy at home. I got a number of SOTA guys! 73 de AC0PR

Looks to me like you did quite well Mike. My coverage was not nearly so broad. Getting to the Pacific Northwest and New England was nearly impossible. I operated from a state park in Arkansas on a lake. Not ideal location as it was in a valley and I ran QRP, but it was a learning experience and requires patience. Very different being the “dx” At QRP versus trying to compete at QRP. I did hear two or three other SOTA call signs.

Thanks, I also got four or five SOTA "regulars" as well, which is always fun!

Why not use software keying?

It's an interesting question, and the answer is because I'm a CW operator first and a "contester" second. I enjoy the mode too much to spend time doing it via software.
