So glad you kept the faith with this one and followed your instincts. There is always one piece, one aspect, one detail in each of your projects that stand out for me, and I rarely mention it in a comment because I don’t wish to take away from the superb quality of the entire diorama. This time I feel compelled to call it out - the silver birch tree is simply amazing, and to see the process in the film a bonus. Once more, my congratulations and my gratitude for sharing so much of what you do. Thanks

I am new to 1/35 model making and i am totaly blown away at your talent havw watched hours of your videos thank you. One thing i just cant master , figure out is proportions of buildings , do you sell any plans or advice in how to work out heights of buildings. Once again thank you
@CWModelling2 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching......The basic premise for scaling buildings is to use reference photos and known 'measurements' like doorways and then compare them to a human figure, you can then use these proportions in relation to a 1/35 scale figure to gauge the size of your building. I don't think accuracy is essential as long as it looks right. There are scale drawings for my last project available to download on my Patreon as well as a PDF painting guide and over time I hope to add drawings of older projects such as this one, if you're interested - www.patreon.com/user?u=79428899 👍

Another fantastic work of art Ian. I like how the previous builds link in. As ever, very inspiring and a first class diorama. Thanks for sharing and taking the time to publish the video.

Many thanks👍..........oh, things go wrong all the time but some creative editing takes care of that, lol......I have some shelves in my work room where the dioramas live👍
@dongilleo97432 жыл бұрын
This would be early in Barbarossa in 1941. The German soldiers heading east are wearing new, relatively clean uniforms and boots, and look fairly confident and fresh. The vehicle looks in new condition. It would be fun to see another diorama with the same setting, only it's 1944 and the tired, dirty, exhausted, beaten German soldiers are retreating back west in the opposite direction. They'd be wearing late war uniforms and carrying late war weapons. You could even have the same type of vehicle, only now it's pointed in the same direction as the retreating soldiers, and it's broken down and abandoned. The building could have battle damage and be partially burned. The chickens would be gone, except for maybe one rotting corpse lying in the dead grass. You could label this one "1941" and it's counterpart "1944".
