A belated congratulation, Sir! My father was also a CW5 in the US Army. As I assume you do, he considered this one of his life’s greatest achievements. I remember the countless nights studying, the dedication he applied to achieving this goal. He was salty, yet fair, and loved his coffee. Lol. He was dedicated, tough yet understanding, he considered it a privilege to train and pass on his knowledge. He once said “Never kick down, its beneath you to do so. Instead, pull up. Those behind you with one hand, and where you want to go with the other”. I’ll never forget this. He was the greatest man I’ve ever known, and my best friend. Once again, Sir. Congratulations. May God and Country be with you.

CW5's are like mythical creatures. People claim to have seen one every now and then and some wonder if they exist at all.

He’s not a true gunner, a gunner is an infantry officer usually at a Division, Reg, or Bn level. Note no bursting bomb on his collar.
