Great video. You guys have revolutionized pool chemistry and maintenance. Wish we had this 25 years ago when I first put our pool in. All we knew was keep ph at 7.5 and chlorine at 3 ppm and shock every week.

I have two voices in my head battling it out. I’ll throw one of my thoughts out there so someone can straighten me out. I understand the overall thought process here but when I see this I believe pH still plays a huge role when there is CYA. Here is what I mean… after CYA is added the HOCl is reduced way down to… let’s say 3% at 7.0pH. If you increased that chart to show that non-binded HOCl (3%) as 100% of the available chlorine then show the HOCl at 8.0pH (hard to tell on the chart but let’s say 1.5%). That would be a sharp drop of approximately 50% reduction in efficiency. Am I wrong in saying a 50% reduction in available HOCl is significant? (Or maybe more real world if 25% from 8.0 to 7.5)

Chris, look closer at the chart to see where the OCl- line is too. That’s the opposite of HOCl. It’s percentage is also very low compared to Cl-CYA. Did you also ask this on our website? We just had this same question as a comment on there. It’s a great question.

@@OrendaTechnologies Thanks for the reply and thanks for the great conversations. No I did not ask the same question on the website.
