If you put a little hydrogen peroxide mixed with water in a separate tray you can bathe it in there for a few seconds as a final step to really darken the blues.

Hi Dylanger, Thanks for your comment. Unfortunately there's no real way to use a 35mm or 120 negative in an enlarger to make a Cyanotype print, mainly because the lens and glass in the enlarger will block the UV light. Of course a contact print is possible but it's a tiny print.

@@GavinLyonsCreates I shoot 4x5, so contact printing is viable, if a bit small. From that size, my understanding is it's not too bad to make a copy negative in the darkroom.

What is the purpose of adding the orange filter to the negative print? Does it give the image more/less contrast?

Thank you for your comment, the orange filter improves the results slightly in terms of tonality. No big deal if you only have a mono printer like a laser.

Thank you for the nice clip! 1: Why do you flip the image? You can use both sides of the transparency, no? 2: HOW did you build your UV-machine?

For the sharpest image, you should have the printed side of the transparency next to the cyno paper. So you need to flip the image to keep the view correct

Hi, To make a 8x10" Cyanotype from 35mm film without any use of digital, would require darkroom enlargement onto a positive type photographic paper. Kind of tricky for most these days. Of course 8x10" negative from a view camera is the ideal - if anyone can afford that. I plan to make a video using some old 18x13cm sheet film inside a pinhole camera this would work as a contact print for Cyanotype.
