Cyanotype with iPhone photos - Creative Photography - ProCamera

Translucent Vellum Paper or acetate sheet

Can the negatives be printed on any kind of inkjet printer? Like an Epson ecotank? Does it need specific ink? And what is that non toxic solution they talk about. This is incredibly interesting. I have thousands of photos sitting there on hard drives doing nothing. Thank you for your answers. I appreciate

Hi! They talk about Cyanografic solution. It's a mixture of two different chemicals; there are also recipies with more ingredients but this will do the trick and is not harmful. If you add some kind of acid this can lead to harmful substances or gases! There are also Kits of these two chemicals availiable; they are premixed or at least in correct ratio and just need to be filled up with water. In my opinion any inkjet printer will do; the really dark spots of a picture need to be as black as possible, many printers have a "Photo-Option" or something. If its too light you can print out more than one negative and stack them. Hope this helps :)

Hey, What amazing prints! I am struggling a bit. I don't know what it is that I'm doing wrong. I mix my solutions, paste my paper in my cellar, wait till the next day when they are dry then place the digital negatives face down with glass on top, my prints start to turn a golden bronze, I then rinse and no blue appears? Is this because it hasn't fully exposed? I see in your video your prints are already turning blue whilst in the sun. What do you reckon? At college I used a UV machine, first time attempting the sun. perhaps my solutions are mixed incorrectly? I hear people say mix equal parts, but online everyone pretty much does 25g .. and then 10g, which is confusing to me also is it because its not sunny anymore and they would just take hours in the light conditions that I'm in. I don't want to lose hope, but running out of solution and paper and haven't made a single print :(... I have hot pressed 310gsm paper. I did 3 hours on a typical English day and still no results. I want to make large cyanotypes. I have a 3x5 glass tabletop that is 3/4 in thick. Will the thickness of the glass affect the process?

Do you know what type of transparency Jorg uses to print his digital negatives?

The best for all contact printing is Pictorico ohp. Pricey but flawless.
