Even though you don’t have your store anymore, I love how they’ve left the storefront up. It’s just gonna have to stay there as a permanent tourist attraction.

These estate sales really give you a glimpse into our own mortality. Most importantly it’s not bad to collect things but not be too attached, it’s all borrowed. It’s about the good memories and experiences, being content in life.

I went to a Beverly Hills estate sale 28 years ago. The husband had already died, and the wife was moved to a nursing home. He owned a theater chain. Her personal closet alone was bigger than my usual apartment as a single person. My gosh...small room after room with hanging rows of sequin clothes all colors of the rainbow. Her Judith Lieber minaudieres were the first items purchased by the lucky "early-attenders.' For $100, I bought a black sequin jacket trimmed with turkey feather boas that I wore for nights out.

Actually that part of LAX was housing community. apparently noise from the planes was too loud the were bought and moved to Watts in late 70s or early 80s. befote it was fenced off it was a lovers lane. it was a beauful view at night.

I lived in Venice Beach for thirty years. Now back in Ohio for 20 years, my home town. Those were great times in LA. It’s great to watch your videos as it brings back many memories. Especially this video, with Brentwood and Dockweiler Beach included, my old stomping grounds. Nice to see the roads by the airport where a housing project use to be, with the roads still there. Looks the same. I miss it all, but I have those memories and glad I did that, just like you GIP. Thank you for the videos! 🙏❣️♌️🇺🇸 Happy 4th!

I agree to an extent. People buy things that make them happy through the years and attach memories to these things. If they meant something, then they meant something. Who is anyone to criticize what individuals do and like when they aren’t hurting anyone? I will be happy in Heaven watching people happy to buy my treasures. ❤

@@ozzyozzoliumI love your take on it all. It made me laugh. You're right about repeating the stories. 😂 It's so hard to sit through. You can even say that you've heard it before and they STILL tell the whole story! Lol. They should be for you and shared only sometimes when appropriate or there's a wise lesson. Sometimes it's the memories that we try to get rid of by buying "stuff". My take is that until you've had to box up loved ones lives, you just have a different perspective. I do, anyway. When we're alive, it's a good idea to unburden ourselves while were alive and our loved ones when we're gone. What's in the will should be what mattered to them. Everything else should be okay to go to GoodWill, friends or the Garbage. I believe that there can be attachments to things we buy or things that are given to us. We would never know it but by getting rid of everything we don't need and a keeping a few things we want, we should find appropriate places for these excess things. The feeling afterwards is amazing. Hoarding is a sickness...attachments, imo. This is why they rarely recover. A lot to do with buying to stop memories of guilt or not living life how we should have. That energy is very bad & causes more attachments to you & the items energies. Who wants other people's shoes, unless they're new & never been worn. All the garbage that we have & it really is worthless. I would never want an Estate sale! My pictures up for grabs?! My clothes and shoes? Personal things?! No way! If you have things worth a bit of money, sell them now unless they're cherished in the family. It's just heartbreaking seeing people going through deceased people's things and you hear them make fun of the items and what not. No Thanks.

Just seeing the people going through stuff at the estate sale was definitely a wake up call for me. I am definitely going to hire help to assist me in going through my storage so I can just start getting rid of everything. I already have stuff set aside in my will that's going to be given to the thrift store and the local libraries, but everything else I'll probably just give to the salvation army. Thanks Mike for taking us to the state beach I had never heard of before. Thats awesome that the guy recognized your voice and you did get your free sausage after all! 😁

This video of the garage sale makes me think about how each of us also has bought things in our lives that we deemed as important. Even just for the moment. But in a way each of these trinkets had a part of this persons life. It was their “stamp” in the world. However great or small. So even though strangers will now buy it, that person’s memories goes with them. To wherever. It’s a journey. From one pair of hands to another. Think about it……. Still special.
