Notes on the event: The missile of Hydra/Minotaurs is more of a long range one. What you have as X in these vehicles isn't your APS(since it's always on), it's the automatic targeting for your missiles. It doesn't really work atm, or I haven't found a way to make it work. But if I fire a missile and then activate it while looking at a tank it will follow the most optimal flight path. All vics have APS. The Minotaur has a lovely APFSDS, and armor but it's APS is lacking. The harpy has excellent APS and air missiles. It also gets guided VT shells. They're wack. You fire them and you're free to guide them in whatever direction you want. They're super good, try using them as pure AA, it's a carnage. The hydra is basically a spam fest of atgms with lacking armor and aps. Notice: the missiles for both hydra and minotaur goes vertical for a non-standard amount of time. I've noticed that it changes that time by either your point of aim and/or how long you press the R button. the APS seems to have 2-3 uses on the Minotaur, 1 for the hydra, and smth like 5 for the harpy, so they should defeat that many missiles before they take damage. The IR camo dazzles the homing of most missiles and makes you invisible.

If I had to guess, this April Fools event is a testbed for introducing more kinds of APS systems to the game, perhaps bigger maps since there's the D, E and F point here, new mechanics for new air to ground missiles given how they function here and get more advanced as the game goes along, and maybe new levels of armor and high penetrating rounds for very modern tanks. But well just have to wait to see what Gaijin does with their April Fools event here

Yeah, and now Hardkill APS instead of Softkill APS (Which were already introduce) Meaning possible M1A2 SEP V3 and a variant of Merkava IV with Trophy APS (Unsure what other Hardkill APS but those tanks with that APS system) As well possible crewless turret stuff and well other features we may not know about yet but can only predict.

I found the only real way to get a kill with the missiles is to come down from directly above at a high angle, also the smashers missiles on the plane are op but the other atgms on the plane are useless, also the proximity fuse shells on the aa tank are actually guided missiles that you can just spam shotgun like swarms of

That invisible fiber optic camouflage only works on the sides not on top because under the tank will be dark so it would just reflect a really dark spot. That's why they're only wrapped on the sides they still haven't figured that out yet which is why it's not being deployed

The tanks have active armor so it destroys the rounds before they pen so u have to shoot with the machine guns first or shoot the same spot twice

The thing you're activating all the damn time isn't APS, that's just the missile lock for planes, so nay tank can do AA if it wants.

For short, active protective system. It's basically like a small radar searching for incoming threats. When a projectile is on its way hitting you explosive charges shoot out against them disturbing or destroying them.

The HE-VT on the Harpy is guided ammunition. The shells work like anti air missiles on high tier spaa. And you can control multiple shells at once :D

With all this talk about APS, I think one thing that seems so obvious to me that people aren't talking about coming to the game is DRONES like the predator, UCAVs. Drones have been a battlefield reality for some time now. Much longer than APS (Active protection systems) has been in the field. I think Drones come before APS. All the tech we see in this April Fools event is real right now including the EMP and invisibility, the DEF safe zones not so much. In my opinion 2077 would be more advanced than what Gaijin has portrayed it. This was more like 2051. How would UCAVs be incorporated into the game since they have no pilot inside them? How many spawn points to get one or, would there be spawn points for them? Could they be like artillery that you could actively control until the drone was lost?

That missile was a test for the SPIKE or LAHAT most likely. The tank is similar to the T-14 and it also has 1000mm of pen which the T-14 is supposed to have.
