One thing that made Casino Night Zone's boss so difficult in sonic 2 was the vibrant bright background of the arena/pinball room. Here, Robotnik stands out by himself and the player's visions isn't disoriented since all there is is a dark blue sky. And I definitely agree that the homing move makes things way way way too easy, moreso than Sonic 3's split second insta-shield.

I think this is the best version they have done in a long time, better than colors and generations. Keep it 2-D like the originals. Sonic is still the fastest platformer out there. As far as the music goes I like it. The game can't be exactly the same as the originals with music and graphics. I especially like the bonus levels theme. It does sound like a childrens lullaby, why it seems like a dream. I can't wait for episode 2 keep up the great work SEGA!

@christiansoldier11 P.S. it's sometime after Knuckles that he learn't the Speed Boost, stomp and Light speed dash, so we can assume it takes place before sonic adventure (which his obvious since he doesn't have a voice actor here.)

All they needed were less rings in the levels, screw the homing attack (leave that to the 3-D games where its actually DIFFICULT to jump on enemies) and this game would be a lot better.

My only complaint... Bosses too easy. I mean what's the point of having so many lives if you can just use homing attack and automatically connect. On sonic 2 that casino boss would be hard to try to land on and if you hit the bottom even a little you would be wasted. I wish I had 50 lives then... Or maybe I just sucked... Who cares I have a job now...

i think it's time for a Chronologically confused: Sonic doesn't have the homing attack in no. 1 2 3 and knuckles, but he has it here in 4. so we can conclude classic sonic came from after Knuckles and learned the homing attack in Generations which is displayed in 4, but that doesn't explain how sonic got a growth spurt, ended up in space in the span of however long it took you to complete Generations. there must have been a Sonic & knuckles 2 we missed somewhere along the lines. Sega Screw-up.
