I will always remember this one as the game that taught me to NOT pre order a game. EVER. No matter how excited I am for it. The game itself it’s actually very good but the amount of technical issues overshadowed the quality of the game and rightfully so. Hoping that CDPR manages to give us a better version in the near future.

While I am happy to be seeing a finished game minus bugs and that allegedly is actually a pretty vibrant lively world, it's clear from watching all these videos how it had some fundamental problems that can't/won't/aren't ever going to be fixed because CDPR is too busy sucking the dicks of nVidia and releasing yet another tech demo to shovel out overpriced and underdelivering hardware at the gullible masses. I.e., if you buy a 3070 or anything from Lovelace you are a moron. Meanwhile that's seemingly what CDPR busies themselves with, releasing shit to make a broken game from previously working one, last I heard DirectX12 which broke Witcher 3 completely got fixed, only now to break DirectX 11, hence why I never allowed the update to be installed and only play the original buggy game. And yes Witcher 3 had bugs, notably it has bugs from the mid 2010s that never even got fixed, which goes to show how much a broken state W3 could've been in had CDPR kissed Jensen's ass and for Pascal being a pile of shit that they'd need to rely on Hairworks to sell it, and then booting undercooked witcher out the door to try and sell their fanboy cards because that's exactly what happened with Cyberpunk. And meanwhile to try and sell Lovelace 40 series jank they got this next gen broken ass update on Witcher 3 and fully pathtraced scenes in Cyberpunk so now your absurdly, insultingly overpriced nVidia hardware can get like 22 fps with it. Which is partly why I already switched brands to AMD. I want reliable performance and affordable 4k gaming, idgaf about these gimmicks and bugs. Meanwhile I think it's hilarious because this is actually going to go down as one of those games that was more interesting to play for bugs just because its Goat Simulator-tier chaos and violence makes it so funny. Like not even in an Obsidian game kind of a way, as in it's so completely random and there's so many that the bugs actually makes it an entertaining experience provided you don't go into it expecting an actually working self serious game, instead expecting a broken goat simulator. So kind of like Fallout New Vegas or some Bethesda game.

Maybe it’s more to do with WHY I play games, but for me, I want a game to unwind with and get lost in another world for a while, and it’s perfect for that. I think Night City is absolutely incredible from a design point of view. I finished the main campaign and now I’m going back finishing every gig and side quest, and I still regularly just stop and look around at how amazing it looks. I don’t do that with games often. I feel like they nailed the aesthetic, the sound design, the atmosphere. I’m playing on PC so probably less glitchy, but in terms of what I was looking for in the game, it delivered!

I played Cyberpunk on PC a year ago and absolutely loved it, the atmosphere, the story was amazing. Did not see a ton of bugs, other than silly stuff like textures and clipping issues here and there. But I came from playing games like STALKER which were extremely buggy open world games but have build a multi-year cult following, the atmosphere was unmatched. If anything I would like to see more content - not more guns and jackets - but missions. I would love to see an "epilogue" of what happens to V, maybe an expansion in the badlands or a prequel doing quests with Jackie before the "big heist". The game has some great environment design and art direction , vehicles characters, but I’m a little over what I felt was a one dimensional game - an big, detailed and crafted world like this needs more ways to interact meaningfully with the world itself - not just shooting, driving and dialogue, but also with npcs and non-story buildings and shaping/ designing your own apartment. So so much unexplored potential there - that’s what makes it so depressing. I can appreciate how much time effort and sweat went into this game - but really want to see a living and breathing world where you can actually build your own journey and carve out a space in it; Hope they can do a no mans sky like revival with this game - and don’t mean in a multiplayer sense - but in interacting with the world.

@@chuckles9767 I 100% agree with this. They literally montaged what would have been the best part of the game and what would have made the Silverhand portion have impact on the player beyond "Well, I wasted a lot of time in character creation, didn't I" feelings. I'd bet money that a big part of the changes the new director made when he was hired was to cut that entire segment so the story would get to Keanu as fast as possible. All they had left were some pre-rendered cutscenes, so they made more and stitched them together into a montage. Silverhand was the focus of the story, not 'V', and that pushed me away from it. I wonder how many of those that love this game have a lot of experience with cyberpunk/cyber-scifi settings. I didn't see anything particularly noteworthy in CP2077 for its genre; in fact, I'd argue that it played the genre's tropes painfully straight.

This is 2022 and I'm back playing this game. As so many players I pre-ordered it, but I did it on the second day it was available for pre-order. I waited for more than a year to launch and play the game. I bought it for PC and I had a decent rig I could run the game. I finished the game once only on one lifepath then I dropped it. After almost one year I played the game again and I felt and saw the difference, but all of what CDPR was marketing, before releasing the game, or what the fixes and upgrades they promissed post-launch, wasn't in the game. I was "okay, I can wait a little longer". But that was it. And then I started thinking about what the creator of the source material had to go through with all this situation. Mike Pondsmith had so many invitations and was asked so many times to sell the rights of his creation for TV shows producers and film makers but, the majority of them, he said no. He was waiting the right moment and the right media to turn Cyberpunk 2020 into a greater piece of work. Unfortunatelly it didn't work out so well because the source material is awesome.

Litterly haven't played it since, but if i'm being honest i still had alot of fun playing it. The story was really awesome and had interesting characters and the gameplay was fun, when it was running smooth. @@elijahmckenzie9207 Honestly the open world of The Witcher 3 is about as lifeless as Cyberpunk but the thing is, it makes sense in TW3 because most of it is just forests without a lot of people. TW3 was all about exploring and discovering new areas like caves, monster nests and bandit camps whereas in Cyberpunk you dont get quests by exploring the city, you get quests via a phonecall that make you explore the city. I think this is one of the biggest flaws this game has because you never really have to and drive around on your own to get new missions. It wouldve been really cool if you could enter a cafe or something and accidentally meet someone who you can talk to and get a mission from. This game definitely could've been way better, even know with the patches. One thing that really annoyed me was the lack of AI customization. I really hated running into the same NPC 5x in the same street. Not to mention in such a large world, there are no ride-able aircrafts, and other means of transportation. What is super annoying too is that, despite the game being what it is, its super anti-crime. Those AI police that come after you are tougher then any dark souls boss. I’ve been writing a ton about anti-consumer practices in the gaming industry lately because it does feel as though consumers are pretty much paying developers to fix their games. I know gaming isn’t the end of everything but it’s still unfair to spend $60+ dollars for something that’s broken, especially when we didn’t have any real means of returning games we didn’t like for awhile. Obviously not every industry is perfect but imagine a real estate agent advertising a house for sale that was nothing like the pictures? The whole “fix it later” mentality doesn’t seem sustainable because a lot of people have moved on from this game. I can also see how they shot themselves in the foot by announcing the game wayyy too early without a clear release plan. The seven year wait and all the delays were arguably bad PR moves on top of all growing hype for it. It reminds me of what happened with No Man’s Sky and how I noticed companies shifted from hyping things up for marketing towards releasing info closer to a game’s release date. Not to mention that so much changed within the gaming industry from the initial trailer in 2013; On a positive note I definitely agree with you on how they go about adding content if they go that route! I loved what AC Odyssey did post release by adding new quests within the world they already built. Night City is such a beautiful place to explore that it would be a shame to not make more use of it:)

Jackie! My man, they could have done so much more with him. The part that I found the most rushed was when they show you how you live adventures and stories with Jackie and become best friends, but they do it in like 3 scenes and you cannot play, they can make a dlc of all of that, killing bad guys, minigames on the disco, races, so much more potential with Jackie
@nunbiz73282 жыл бұрын
I have a theory that all those scenes were originally concepts that were meant to be the tutorial-first third of the game but due to development issues they skip you right ahead to the major heist mission which by any story telling standard should have been done a third or half way through the game. This would have allowed a more natural immersion Into Night City, a slower boil of the story and the ability to actually build up your relationships with the fixers and jackie by doing basic grunt work. It also would have kept the narrative of the opening of the game more light as it would be about trying to make it big in Night City rather than trying not to die of Cyber Brain cancer.

The problem with adding a DLC with this content is : how do you fit all that with the character progression system ? If it have been events happening somewhere during the middle of the campaign, it would have been fine. You gain some experience, maybe a new gun, or whatever, this doesn't fundamentaly break your character progression. But these are events happening before the game itself, where you start at the lowest level and most basic equipement. How do you fit that in, without having your DLC feeling like a complete waste of time for the progression of your character, or breaking the starting state of the main story ? That being said I was extremely disappointed about all the cut content and lack of things to do while free roaming night city. Besides that I absolutely LOVED the map and ambiance. Literally one of if not the nicest I've seen in a video game. The storyline was amazing and the characters were as well. I didn't get a single one of those funny glitches where a car randomly crashes or explodes, or have missions where npcs got stuck. I did almost always have my car travel companion's torso twisted 180 degrees round though and I had 2 T pose incidents. Add a few civilians panicking when I jumped a couple times and that's about it. This review, and his previous one, were WILDLY unfair to this game. Anyone who doesn't expect a brand new game to have some bugs in this day and age is smoking crack. Most people I've personally know who played on PC or a late gen console had few or no issues. Almost all of the legitimate complaints came from people trying to play on 1st Gen Xboxes or Ps4s... and not warning people of that ahead of time WAS crappy of CD Project Red. But all of everything else? Unmitigated hate mongering. Cyberpunk 2077 is an amazing game, with a great story and excellent game play. If someone tells you anything other than that, they either never played the game or have terrible taste in video games... or maybe they just dislike open world RPGs. I guess that's possible. But if you've played the Witcher 3 and thought it was awesome and hate Cyberpunk 2077, there's a problem somewhere, and its not in the game. Their storytelling style and gameplay loops are nearly identical.
@Slick108362 жыл бұрын
@@SouthernGuy5423 all the hate comes from those who thought this game is another GTA! Clearly, players who are unexperienced with good RPG games and also not even touched the Witcher. And I think that this is a bit where CDPR made a poor decision. Letting the hype flow and advertise the game as such. Because the trailer where it's shown that you can customize cars and race and have missions with repercussions and NPC that take into account your actions, attracted the GTA players. Now, I like GTA. I always only played the story, but somehow never got to finish them. Rockstar pulls amazing things in the story direction. But other than that? They're just goofy games with silly to no brain action and I do not want to offend anyone when saying so, but it doesn't really require too much effort and intelligence to play it. Whereas a full scale RPG like Cyberpunk is a bit different approach. At least to me. So it's an interesting debate here. But as you also said, it is an unmitigated hate mongering because it is just the trend of this era. And it will only get worse. Because as everywhere else, in gaming also we just take everything or granted. We do not stop and think of the consequences of our actions. How much it really impacts the people working behind these projects. And what annoys me the most is that each and every one of us is taking part in delivering the same experience on our end. Either if we work for a corporation and we are forced to or we have private business and we want to which is way worse. Isn't it hypocrisy? Because it does sounds like it to me.
