The fact a four year old single player game is doing better than the vast majority of multiplayer games new and old speaks absolute volumes, I had no idea the count was that high, insane.

Even more taking into account most of us who replay it over and over already have the platinum and we've done every single quest in the game. Nevertheless, it's always so satisfying to replay it, and after 4 years I can say it reached the same feeling I had replaying GTA SA, both are truly sigleplayer masterpieces

Cyberpunk 2077 is my favorite game of all time. Nothing comes close. The world is so alive. There's a weird meta-narrative there because in the game, Night City is something that is awful but somehow attracts people and doesn't let them leave. I feel the same way about NC in the game. It's a horrible place but I don't want to leave.
@grimmjow010614 күн бұрын
I wouldn’t say it’s alive. I mean, it’s a linear, driven story that the world is a backdrop for. Once you get outside of that story, it’s just a pretty picture. And I reiterate it is a beautiful well drawn amazing world with so much immersive potential but CD PR was not able to capture that within the framework and foundation of an action adventure story game. They made it linear for a reason to save time because of the deadline, but in doing so it robbed a lot of the worlds immersive potential outside of that story. I mean once the story is done if you go to afterlife it’s just a point of interest and you can’t do anything there ultimately much like everywhere else. They’re just POI’s. Still, I love the world and how they brought it to visual life as it’s incredibly well done. But I hope that the sequel maintains more of a true RPG sense with that role-playing aspect to really allow the world to have a very immersive role in a way that a linear action adventure story game just cannot do. But this is just my own opinion and feelings on it and still, I think the world looks awesome so yeah

I have a suggestion for the in-game economy/immersion. How about V puts a band together? Maybe after the show with Samurai, a bit more of Johnny merged with V and they can now play guitar. Consequently, a musician in the audience asks V if they're up for starting a band and if the player wants to, they can. They then have to recruit members from across Night City and choose a style of music (maybe you could use some of the tunes submitted by the community for Growl that didn't get selected). They buy gear from the music shop, outfits from the clothing shops, choose a name and rehearse some songs. The band records a demo, puts it on a website, whereby, they get offered gigs and perform at venues around the map for eddies. They also receive a passive income from streaming and online sales. Eventually, the band end up performing at a festival in the desert that's headlined by Kerry. Maybe things can happen, such as, as the band's reputation increases, they can buy better/different gear, or a band member/fan gets killed by a rival, so V needs to take them down and recruit someone new. Maybe a rival band is performing human sacrifices and V has to deal with them, or a Satanic panic element that's tied to nefarious AI that has escaped the blackwall. Maybe you have to acquire a van for transporting your equipment that's a nod to Wyld Stallyns. Essentially, it would be an opt-in band simulator as a side activity with some related story content. How about a crazy fan kidnaps Vs love interest and so they have to save them?

@Pantadeusz1711 күн бұрын
I’m quite certain that CDPR could capitalise on this amount of players comitting to the game by hiring external devs and giving them proper tools to create another expansion. It would probably sell very well.

Just got this on sale from Winter Sale with expansion and wow... Glad I waited for all the patches and expansion because this game is incredible right now. It's hard to put it down and go to bed.
@CMFL7714 күн бұрын
Here is some maximum hopium: I think 2.2 was a rehearsal for the studio they used for potentially a bigger update. I think CDPR cannot simply ignore the continued success of the game and although they said "no more" at the end of the day they are a business and it would honestly be foolish to make us wait 6-7 years for the sequel when there is supposedly half of a full games worth of content for 2077 left out of the OG release. I think the "Space DLC" renderings were pulled offline by them because they have become pertinent to things in production. I think by the middle of 2025 they'll announce the 2nd expansion for 2077 and we'll get it a couple of months after GTA6. I dont believe we are going to continue just getting small cosmetic tweaks and bug fixes. Like I said...MAXIMUM hopium.
@heavenorheck14 күн бұрын
I like the way you hope, choom.
@MrMeddyman14 күн бұрын
It's hopium because there isn't much ROI besides repairing trust which they've largely done (and it is appreciated), If anything I'd like them to keep going through cut content and adding it back as an avenue to get regular updates in the game. It's actually quite sad if you look into how feature-creeped CP2077 was, large portions of the map, story missions and mechanics never made it in and only the most egregious like the combat zone aka Dogtown and certain cyberware abilities, skills, vehicle combat and weapons made it into Phantom Liberty, but there is so so so much more left on the cutting room floor and a lot of the focus on these updates seems to be in getting some functions of those features in like the N-Cart etc... Another expansion this far out isn't probably going to sell very well or come out in time to be relevant, but then again this is going by industry standard and Cyberpunk has not had a conventional release and lifecycle by any means so who knows.
@imitenotbe14 күн бұрын
there's still more mods they can steal and play off like original material
@Krmpfpks11 күн бұрын
In the end it comes down to ROI. Cyberpunk is still used as a GPU demo on the big stage, people are still buying and playing it. A DLC would sell at least to the hardcore fans, but probably not good enough to hire triple A actors. So I guess all we can hope for is a ‚for the fans‘ DLC that is cheap to make (maybe even by the studio they hired) but will give us more lore, more gigs and stuff that is based on content that has been cut from the game earlier. But I would enjoy that!

I love and want nothing but the best for this series; but. I have found 2.2 brought back a few bugs for me personally, things that have been fixed/working fine since 2.0. Including cars bouncing around, auto drive acting a bit wonky. Things that were long since past being an issue. Sure they're not too consistent/bad but I hope they can address these things fast to avoid any more dampenings upon it all as I was finally happy with where they'd gotten everything and I do enjoy what 2.2 brings content wise etc. Glad to see you again, hope your 2025 is going great so far!
@Whitestripe7114 күн бұрын
Interesting to read this - I started playing the game in November, just before update 2.2, and for the first week or so of playing I experienced barely any bugs at all. But recently I've noticed all sorts of bugs, particularly with cars - dropping from the sky, behaving erratically, bouncing around, NPC characters floating above the road in a driving pose, but there's no car there - all sorts of craziness. It's just cosmetic stuff, not game-breaking, but it is annoying and I do hope they sort it, and it does feel like it's much worse than it was in those first weeks of me playing the game.

I've been absolutely loving it! Started playing about 2-ish months ago 1st time and still finding tons of stuff to do, taking pics with the great photo mode of the banger artistically neon-lite dystopia that is Night City, taking it slow cause I don't even wanna rush through such a game. gameplay solid a f too, char building is fun where you can play very differently depending on your perks/skill trees AND cyberware, and can do many fun combos - I do wish regular enemies were a bit better to challenge that tho', cause you get so godlike they just struggle to keep up even on Very Hard. Still, it's fun regardless and for those wanting more challenge after you made a rly tweaked out V, try stuff like non-lethal kills, that'll be quite harder as you gonna have to be careful not to hit enemies twice, hit the legs more, use non-lethal weaps, etc. Boss fights are bangers tho' , I feel they hit a sweet spot between challenging & fun. And narrative? That's always the forte, along with immersion, of CDPR. So yea, hop on Cyberpunk chooms, and have a preem time.

do you remember a little story about a game that promised to be so great it was genre defining but it wasn't quite finished yet and got delayed multiple times earning the studio good reputation (after all they're not afraid to delay it) and you know what comes with reputation ... stock prices ... they reached the stratosphere....but as a shareholder how do you turn that into real cash: Get a bunch of shareholders together and apply pressure on the studio to announce a release date (as this date approaches share prices keep going higher ... the game is still broken so ...give media outlets as little time to test it as possible (1-2 days) and keep it under NDA for as long as possible. As the launch date approaches start selling shares at those insane inflated prices... But oh, what's that... the game is broken?! who could have known ... people go crazy and start to boycott the studio asking refunds and so on ... ofc stock prices hit all time low. Now same people who sold them at their peak buy them at prices of nothing ... time passes game gets patch after patch getting itself fixed stock prices normalize. And same assholes who caused all this mess get basically free money... but no its the studio's fault in the eyes of many. Too bad insider trading is a thing even in this day and age... Oh, look a new Witcher game on the horizon.

Something with the new system doesn't click at all for me and I gave up on even playing the expansion. I guess I'm in the minority that liked the "old" CP2077 better.

"Which was hit or miss depending on the platform you played it on." Thank you for saying this. As someone who had a good experience with the game when it came out and rarely experienced any bugs, the constant slander from people who never touched the game and merely parroted the horror stories was always incredibly frustrating.

Speaking of big crazy mod releases, uh yeah, someone made New Game+. It's still got some issues here and there, but for the most part, it works, its feature-complete, it's designed after CDPR's philosophy concerning NG+ in their other games, and people are using it. I'm actually in the process of learning Lua scripting right now, because I want to revamp the entire hacking system and make it more like the way computer hacking was in my day, where players are designing their own hacking tools and scripts from modular components (I'm not going to make them write code, basically). The current quickhack system is just a turnkey win button IMO, I want to make it more dynamic and risky. In my day, hacking made your hands tremble if you were doing it right.

They need another big expansion. If they dont plan on making V main character in Orion they need an expansion where we finish V story.

Seems i'll stay in this game until CP77-2, cause there is no alternatives in terms of visual style.

Judy. I loved her bros. Simped for her every chance I could. She wouldn't even look at me. I don't want to hear about mods, if she doesn't like me for me it's not the same.

I hope CDPR realize that people are still starving for some more cyberpunk content, if I was them I would keep updating the game with small but meaningful content to keep people hooked and not let the long wait for the sequel cool things down

DO you use a M&K when steering? I find it feels unnatural compared to a controller. Maybe it's just me. haha

CDPRs actions to salvage CP2077 have given me some hope, but I won't forget the millions of BS hype and advertising all to release it in the state it was. I ordered (usually multiple copies for friends as well) every game since Witcher 2, but I definitely will not be pre-ordering Witcher 4. Plan to wait a year or so after it comes out to see how it goes first.

This game needed an official third person mode... it's so suited to it with all the customization. Ah well.
