2:24: “Reed’s not the only one I betrayed…” This line, this fucking line… I got this ending after getting The Devil ending for the base game, the ending where you betray pretty much everyone, but especially yourself. Then in Phantom Liberty, I betrayed Reed out of sympathy for her and her situation, and tore through an entire army to save her, only for her to reveal her betrayal. And at that moment it clicked. The V I was playing as, and So-Mi were one in the same. V betrayed so many people, including his closest allies, the one who saved his life, in a desperate bid for self preservation. This is exactly what So-Mi had been doing all along as well. Reed was far from the only one both of them betrayed, but I refused to let V betray her, betray another friend, another ally, one that could prevent him from making the same mistakes he made in a previous ending. So I saved her.

So real, who could have been a better person to understand than V ? Same story, same issue, not the same decisions. I prefer thinking that what we made by hijacking the rocket will open us some doors to new solutions to save ourself by the few months that V have left, and even if we don't, V will be able to be proud of his life. But, isn't killing her the best solution ? When you find out that the rocket pass and shit was all planned by Mr. Blue eyes, who could know what he's gonna do with songbird ? With all the informations we got rn, we can think that Blue Eyes is an AI, so ... Anyways, there was not a single chance that the NUSA got songbird back, even on the top of the building Myers said to find her by any means necessary BUT not to shoot her in the head, so we can imagine that even if she died, they would have recovered his brain or something like that to use it again.

6:20 is one of the greatest pieces of music I've ever heard in a video game,it gave off such a melancholy feel and perfectly encapsulated the 'no turning back' feeling of the scene. V knew by killing Reed,their chances of living a long and complete life is over,Songbird had betrayed them,manipulated their empathy to save her own life. And yet it's far too late to turn back now. Far too many innocent lives had died for this to be zilch,and though Songbird had betrayed them,V understood her desire to survive,to escape from the hellhole created by Myers and the NUSA,and they sure as hell ain't going to condemn her to a life of misery driven by an egomaniac's will to control the uncontrollable. So V in spite of being betrayed, still sent Songbird off to the Moon,sacrificing their chances of a better life for someone else's. And as V watched the rocket taking off,all they could wish for is for Songbird to live a long and fulfilling life at their expense.

The meeting with Mr. Blue Eyes and our further flight to the space station fits into this ending. And who knows, maybe we will meet there. Mr. Blue-Eyed promised us more than we can imagine. It can be difficult to describe, I think everyone that played it took some version of their own meaning from it. In a city where it's legally required to own a gun, Night City is a cold and violent place. It's like a metal giant constantly looming in the background, reminding you that even thinking about hope is pointless. Your life means nothing to it, or the people in it. And NC doesn't offer any "good endings" either. But it's an experience that will stay with you...if you can stay with it until the end. I felt like I was walking into a completely different, and new world. I've spent over 727hrs in that world now, and I still keep going back to Nighty City. And I also can't stress this enough, but this is a next-gen game. Meant to played on the latest consoles or PC. Please don't play this on your PS4. lol

The sad part of Phantom Liberty is the best move is not to play it. Side with So Mi: - A lot of people in the stadium die. Some might even deserve it, but that's not a free pass to mass civilian murder. I know people are going to call out all the other people V's killed, but all of them were wanted gangoons and had bounties to be collected; this situation is nothing like that. - The space port becomes a War Zone and you're an accomplice to that act of worldwide terrorism; Two brutal atrocities occur to save one person, and while this might please Johnny, I don't think we should be taking the route that pleases an Anarchist. I love the guy, but a lot of good people end up on your conscience here. - You hand her over to Mr. Blue Eyes; his hands are all over this, and considering the rabbit hole he's apart of? I don't find much comfort in that. Side with Reed: - A lost, scared young woman is forced to die or lose herself. - The FIA (and Myers) get their WMD back. - Alex gets ended two days from retirement. - V gets screwed by the FIA; I don't really buy their story about V not being able to live with combat implants. I think they were just preemptively removing a threat from their board, and gave V a "kindness" by not offing them for being a loose end. I think the best ending is her death, or to never touch this situation and let Myers die. If you must play this game, don't give Myers the power So Mi wields. What an excellently written conundrum; I love the base game, I love the gnawing sort of dread that gave you, but this is just... it's something else. Cyberpunk 2.0 was a fun jaunt, but now I'm invested in the universe here. I like the darker undertones and more serious writing on display here. I'm going to be chewing on this for awhile, I think.

The digital world of Cyberpunk 2077, with its neon-lit streets and gritty underbelly, had always been a place of stark realities. But never had I felt the weight of those realities so acutely as I did in the aftermath of Songbird's betrayal. I had poured my heart and soul into the mission, believing that Songbird would be the key to our salvation. Her lies, her deception, felt like a gut punch. The hope I had clung to shattered into a thousand pieces. Johnny's words, "Can always call Reed," echoed in my mind, a stark reminder of the choices I had made. I refused Reed's offer, a decision born from a stubborn pride and a desperate desire to prove myself. But as I sat alone in the aftermath, the emptiness was overwhelming. The realization that Songbird, the one I had trusted, had betrayed me, left me feeling raw and exposed. It was a harsh lesson, one that mirrored the harsh realities of the world I inhabited. The idea of a "happier ending" seemed like a distant dream, a fantasy that couldn't exist in a place as gritty and unforgiving as Night City.

This is perfect for something I have in mind for the future *"There once was a paladin who was born a sorcerer who had struggled to follow a path to devotion until he had lost everyone he knew and loved. His friends, family, even comrades, all dead. With such grief and loss came a new path, to vengeance upon the elven oathbreaker and the masked warlock who burned his hometown, turned the dead into zombies, and later slaughter a citadel full of holy knights. With a sword on one hand and a shield on the other, he would vanquish the monsters who brought such despair upon him and any who would do the same. No child should ever face such loss like he felt."* Edit: *"Quested to find and recover a cleric who he considered was like a sister, the paladin finds himself trapped on the land known as Barovia. A country ruled by a vampire lord. Now, with the sun constantly blocked and no way to escape, he must fight alongside new allies and combat hags, wolves, and the undead to regain his freedom and that of everyone lost within the land."*

This song reminds me of dune and the bene gesserit (especially the song of the sisters song) so much that it’s almost hard for me to see it fall into a world like this, but i still love it so much! Still haven’t been able to experience the expansion for the first time yet so im really curious to know where and how this song plays in the game

If you loved this story, then you'll love the expansion. In some ways Phantom Liberty felt even better written, more consistency.

Even though so mi had betrayed us that it was better to push forward, because to turn her in at the last step would've made everything meaningless. So much destruction for nothing. And two because at least so mi can have a life. And lastly because the nusa tried to make me their attack dog at the expense of everyone in tycho terminal, and lastly because I wanted to set the world aflame with the 5th corporate war.

So mi did betray us but in the end she was finally honest with v, like v could have just killed her after she said the neural matrix can only be used once, but she still said it, meaning she has gained trust back in v, in everyone again, thus sending her to the moon seems like a right choice cause we gave her another chance to live in freedom, without nusa, without betrayal, without worshipping

I don't think they ever released it on an official album, same with some of the other background music/themes. But hey, that's what this channel is for. 😉

the best outcome for cyberpunk phantom liberty is, play the regular game as normal, side with reed, complete the cynosure quest and kill so mi so she doesnt have to work for myers, then go back and do dont fear the reaper and let johnny or v take the body in both respects the temperance ending where V after they storm Arasaka tower side by side makes sense for me and finally if you choose the v to stay alive V takes on what i can only assume is some bad ass gig in space
@spec79235 ай бұрын
Nah best ending is so mi, she’s just the same as you and V in her position wouldve done the same thing. They were both clawing for survival and you get the choice to atleast save one of you
