The doc was always honest with David, calling him greedy was uncalled for. He told him the risks, he saw the signs of cyberpsychosis, he gave him the warnings to chrome down before it was too late, but David kept going. All the chrome functioned well, he always had top shelf items and he even gave him advice on pacing himself. But in the end, it wasn't enough, the cycle of glory seekers had one more turn and he could just watch from the sidelines.

While I agree, full body conversions require removal of the spine so it's possible that they could have if the process of reconnecting nerve endings (or I guess an equivalent in an FBC) is so "easy"

Think of it as plugging your Ethernet router. Keep all main systems disconnected but running in a loop. All organs running normal but operating on their own external machines. Then disconnect the spine and spinal cord. Place new spine and new cord into the brain. Reconnect all systems at the same time cutting their loop. Add signal amp and secondary processor. Boom your faster then normal. Of course. People in this timeline must have something that heals cell systems fast because the recovery rate is nuts.

It's been well-established in the Cyberpunk universe that people slipping into cyberpsychosis often feel a lot more comfortable around machines and metal than humans. In the Lizzie Wizzie mission in game, she says that she "likes what's happening" to her as she slips into cyberpsychosis itself.

There's theory i have, David was suffering from Cyberpsychosis ever since he got the first implant. It's just that his symptoms were potentially masked by how they effected David's mind not showing visible signs, that was unit they got really bad and when these signs did show, he was already over the edge. If the theory is true David's true tragedy was that he wasn't special or gifted, he was cursed.

Doc wasn’t David’s parent, nor did he pretend to be. But he was his physician. He treated David like an adult and chipped him as long as he had the scratch. And for every update, he warned him against it. Told him the about the effects of cyberpsychosis and how his growing reliance on chrome would only escalate it. But he knew David more than most. Knew that when the kid had his mind set on something, he was gonna do it regardless of the warnings. So, what more could Doc do but keep an eye on David as much as could? Rather than kicking him out to find another Ripperdoc who wouldn’t give a shit about him and pump him full of chrome till he went feral from it , he held David’s hand all the way to the edge and never gave up on him, even when he almost choked him out while fielding for immunosuppressants. He knew the path that David was hurtling towards, and it saddened him, but also knew it was inevitable. As a doc, he likely saw that sort of thing on a daily basis. It’s just that a small part of him hoped that his kid wouldn’t go out that way, too.

I like how most of the ripdocs you have in cyberpunk actually care for you and your health like V’s ripdoc views V as family while David’s ripdoc also views him as family but as a little brother who doesn’t listen but you give warnings to goes to show how realistic and how much detail they put in both shows and game it may not be really realistic but you can’t lie some of the stuff in cyberpunk is pretty realistic
