Creating Time Off Types:
Navigate to the Time Off app within the HR module.
Under the Configuration menu, choose Time Off Types.
Click New to create a new time off type.
Essential Settings:
Name: Clearly define the type of leave, such as "Vacation," "Sick Leave," "Personal Day," etc.
Take Time Off: Select the unit used to track this leave (e.g., Days, Hours, Half Days).
Kind of Time Off: Choose whether the leave counts as "Absence" (reducing working hours) or "Working Time" (not impacting work hours, like training days).
Allocation Settings:
Allocation Type: Here, you define how leave is granted to employees:
Regular Allocation: Assign a fixed number of days or hours upfront (e.g., 10 vacation days annually).
Accrual Allocation: Leave accumulates based on pre-defined criteria like working hours or seniority. You'll need to set up an Accrual Plan for this option (explained later).
Leave Quota per Employee: If using regular allocation, specify the total leave entitlement per employee or define different quotas for employee groups (departments, positions).
Additional Configurations (Optional):
Allow To Join Supporting Document: Enable attaching documents (e.g., doctor's notes) to leave requests.
Work Entry Type (Payroll Tab): Link the time of type to a specific payroll category for accurate wage calculations.
Project/Task (Timesheet Tab): Associate the leave type with relevant projects or tasks for better timesheet management.
Display and Cover Image: Customize the visual appearance of the time of type in calendar views.
Leave Request and Approval Process:
Employees submit leave requests through the employee portal or by notifying managers.
The request displays the available leave balance based on the chosen time off type.
Managers can approve or reject requests considering department schedules and resource availability.
Odoo tracks approved leaves and automatically deducts them from the employee's balance.
