Thank you Steve for taking us along. What a beautiful country to ride in. I love the dedicated bike lanes there, I wish here in America we could follow their example. You sir are an inspiration to this 67 year old. ,

What a fantastic adventure, Steve and Jan! I look forward to viewing your subsequent videos from this trip! My wife and I visited the Netherlands, but primarily in/around Amsterdam and got around on the AirBnB owner's 2 very traditional Dutch bicycles -- very large and heavy steel-framed single-speeds, but it was such a joy to ride bikes there! We also enjoyed our time in Norway where everywhere you look is a gorgeous postcard photo! I'd love to return to Norway for a bike tour, maybe an organized one. Darren Alff's (formerly from the Bicycle Touring Pro KZbin channel) incredible videos of Norway, Sweden, and Finland are gorgeous and very inspiring for bike touring! Enjoy the rest of your trip, Steve and Jan!

Hi there and thanks for watching and your comment! We tried to cycle Norway 2 years ago. I have a video about the misadventure. We will go back maybe next year. Darren's videos inspired us. We did cycle in Portugal with Darren 4 years ago. Nice Guy, but it was time for him to move on with his life away from KZbin. Too bad the guy that took over his channel didn't take it serious. Thanks again and all the best, Steve

@@steveretiredandcycling Yeah, I miss Darren's bike touring vids. He did a great job on them. I think everybody was optimistic about Sam taking over the BTP channel, then sadly very little happened and I just noticed that Sam removed his own videos and profile pic from the channel, and now Darren's profile pic is back up -- strange. Thanks for the heads up. I'll check out your Norway vid. Have a good one!

Dutchie here: “Texel” is pronounced like “Tessl”. Great to see you enjoyed the Wadden Sea and its isles, one of my favorite regions as well.

Livin the dream. You and Jan are a delight and have such positive outlooks, the only way to live happy . I spent a good deal of time with Dutch folks and they are nice people - flat land no bad thing either on a bike. 👍🇮🇪

Hi. What month did you do this trip? I'll be going at the end of September and am a little unsure about what weather to prepare for, but I assume we'll get some rain. Did you happen to notice if there was a stockpile of helmets on onboard to rent? I may need to leave mine behind last minute if I have too much in my carry on. Was the demographic a mixed group? Any solo bikers? Thanks in advance!!
@steveretiredandcycling3 ай бұрын
Hi there and thanks for the question! We did our trip early June. Check the weather history for the region and dress accordingly. I regret not bringing my helmet since I use an extra large. The helmets are good quality though. They are rented before the tour. They do not have extras onboard. The riders were mostly older couples. A few were traveling solo. On a trip like this you never know what mix of people you will get. Everyone was friendly! I will release part two in about a week. Thanks again and I know you will enjoy the trip, Steve
