I have sold a lot of bikes and 2 vehicles on craigslist without problems. I have bought my last 2 motorcycles off of craigslist without problems. Both bikes were ridden to my house and everything went without a hitch. My CB1000R only had 126 miles on it as it scared the hell out of the Harley rider that just wanted a sport bike.He thought! Super Sick deals on that bike and the 919. I subscribe and watch all of your videos. Thank you for this one because I think I probably have just been lucky. I will be changing my buying and selling habits now. Great advice! Thanks to you, I am no longer a Squid. I wear full gear always now, so what you are doing is making a difference. I am a 65 year old kid that ride a lot everyday and I laugh my ass off watching your videos, as my sense of humor is as sick as yours. Been riding over 50 years, but you have taught me so much and I love to learn.Thanks and keep rolling the good shit out that you do!

My local bike shop will consign your bike. No dealing with tire kickers, no need to take it to a public place for safety, no need to have a mechanic look at it (it is already there). For the 10-15% I think it is worth having/paying someone else to sell it for you. Although some people like to make copper wire from pennies so it may not be for everyone.
@CycleCruza6 жыл бұрын
Yeah but then people are sitting on the bike and can scratch it. I wouldn't want my bike sitting on the showroom floor.

In my opinion Facebook marketplace is the best place to sell online. It’s easier to detect scammers and you can click on the buyers Facebook profile to see their pictures so you can see who you’re dealing with. By clicking on their profile you can also see how long their Facebook account has been active and how many friends they have to gauge whether or not the account is legit or not.
@CollinMac966 жыл бұрын
If you use craigslist be smart. I take my pictures in front of my local dealership and if people wanna see the bike they can meet me outside of my gated community. Also no test rides until you have cash in hand.

I disagree with not allowing a test drive... I'd never buy a bike without test driving it... I'll let you test ride it, I hold the cash while you ride it.. Video evidence of an agreement of you drop it or wreck it, you buy it... He drops it? No big deal, give him the title and tell him to have fun. Cops won't do anything because you have proof of an agreement and proof he damaged the bike and has now bought it.
@CycleCruza6 жыл бұрын
and then he stabs you and takes his money back? lol NO TEST RIDES! I'll ride the bike and show you it's good.
@CollinMac966 жыл бұрын
CycleCruza do you have a conceal carry permit? If not just have friends near you. I always keep my gun holstered visibly so they know not to do anything stupid
@Yamaha-MT-096 жыл бұрын
CycleCruza I live in Ohio, I have my concealed carry license and when dealing in large transactions like this have a buddy, who also has his.. Nobody is getting stabbed for their money back. I wouldn't buy a bike with it test riding it, watching it be ridden and riding it are 2 different things, when riding it you could feel the front end doesn't feel right, but you may not see it when they're riding it. Open carry is legal in Ohio, if you have concerns, get a buddy to open carry with you, I assure you, you will have little problems lol.
@CollinMac966 жыл бұрын
Michael H the open carry may scare off non gun owners though. And if they stab you they better off kill you too because the feds will be in their ass shortly
@Yamaha-MT-096 жыл бұрын
Collin Mac I've opened carried plenty and never had it happen, idk about other states, but I've yet to meet a motorcycle person who was anti-gun. Depending on what you're selling maybe, but sports bikes and Harleys, most love guns and carry so I'd say here in Ohio a small chance.. Now in other states, could be an issue and you'd be correct on that. Risk you just have to take lol.

Everything sounded good except for when you said don’t let someone test ride. I always make sure I test ride the bike before I buy it. And I make sure to bring someone else with me and give the money to the seller in a wallet as collateral just Incase I drop the bike or wreck It. That’s how we do it in Florida atleast. I have been screwed before not test riding it. I bought a zx6r I couldn’t test ride and everything looked and sounded amazing, took it home and found out after I bought it, that 2nd gear would slip into neutral every time I shifted. Turns out the shift fork was wore down because of 2nd gear clutch up wheelies. Wouldn’t of bought it, if I would of been able to test drive it and after that I always do and never had any issues. Considering I’m an experienced rider and a motorcycle mechanic.

Providing supporting documents such as safety, (motorcycle is fit to be use in the streets) and used vehicle information package from the ministry of transportation is a plus as well. I do agree not to accept cheques, money order, bank draft.. just cash. Ask for full payment if they want to test ride it too!

Thanks for this very informative video. Since you are experienced, I would appreciate ur input. According to you #1 - what kind of motorcycle sell easiest and fastest Cruiser, sportsbike, dirtbikes, enduro? What engine size sell best? #2 - do customers care about price or mileage? What price range are most people looking to buy at? #3 - what buying source or database do you consult to know if the bike you are buying is a good deal? I love motorcycles. I owned a 05 ninja 250, an 07 gixxer 600, the 07 fireblade and now Im enduro with a 2000 XR600R that I love to death. I can fix most things with a guide or youtube videos. Things i installed before are full yoshimurs exhaust w power commander, fairings removal nd installation, nd most maintenance stuff. I do actually own nd dealers license nd went to an auction in San diego back in November. Im going to attend another one tomorrow in Dallas Texas which is where I reside. I have been buying and selling cars for 4 years now but I cannot call that a successful experience because the competition is really harsh here in Dallas. I undoubtedly gained a lot of knowledge and can fix most things that do not require overhaul. I want to try the bikes because it is not as saturated as cars but I needed your take before i start navigating in that world. Anybody else reading and wanting to reply, feel free to chime in. Id really appreciate it.

Lifted_Above most criminals are actually stupid as hell but I know a few that are smart as hell and have gotten away with alot lol. Though the crimes aren't exactly like killing someone or robbing someone, that's a total different story but point is, you can have knowledge about weeding through the majority but can't weed through em all. Best way to do it is at a bank and hopefully find a cop around just incase they're just that dumb lol. Though selling can be hard, finding a legit seller can be too.

I hear yeah but you see I'm trying to join the army and once they give the okay I'm in a situation where I need to sell fast and if that means giving up some profits that's alright. The car wasn't much more then 2500 bucks so it wouldn't be a huge loss if I didn't make a profit, plus I'm still getting some money. So yeah unless ebay is quick I don't know what else there is besides carmax, maybe selling it to a friend. Also I really love your website, great stuff there man, and the fact that you go into real estate I think that is so cool I hope I can get into real estate one day. Oh, okay. Makes sense. Why dont you like the 250L? I was thinking of adding one to my collection to go with my versys 650
@kirk922706 жыл бұрын
I dont really have anywhere to ride it where I live I thought I had a spot to ride when I got it but trucks and jeeps go back there and have it rutted up like crazy i hate letting it just sit its like brand new I payed 5400 for it I would take 3500 for it to go to a good home

Trying to sell my 2017 fz 09.
@CycleCruza6 жыл бұрын
Why are you selling it? Don't like it? I hear the stock suspension is still not that good?
@pauly1k6 жыл бұрын
CycleCruza It’s an excellent bike but it’s not for me anymore. The suspension is mushy but I never minded it. I just feel I need to go in another direction bike wise and get something more refined.

Sell the Fireblade
@CycleCruza6 жыл бұрын
Not any time soon. I'm not a fan of the electronic shit on the new bikes, one reason I'm not keeping my Ducati long term.
@hypernano53956 жыл бұрын
CycleCruza Ok Bro do watcha wanna do. I guess you are attached to the Fireblade I get it. Also she will keep her value now going forward. I enjoy your work. Peace.
