You'd laugh if I told you my favorite bike to ride on the daily is the Yamaha XMAX 300. It's just a joy to ride, super agile, cheap to maintain, and can get up to 90 mph. I just don't need more and Yamaha quality is tough to beat.
@CycleCruza14 сағат бұрын
I won't laugh. Scooters can be really fun, I started on a crappy little 178cc Chinese off brand scooter. lol That XMAX 300 looks cool and I bet a fun little bike as you say. Nice!
@michaelbrinks808914 сағат бұрын
I'd love to take something like an XMAX 300. Make it recumbent seated & add a removable, lightweight, very aerodynamic, full weather plastic, fiberglass, enclosure. So you could ride it everyday year round. Make it a 3 wheeler with 2 wheels up front......Or even better make a 3wd fully enclosed hybrid scooter. Using 1 electric motor in each wheel for 3wd... A battery 🔋 pack that charges off any 120V 🔌 plug in. Then add a gas ⛽ inverter generator inside a locking vented compartment on the scooter that can recharge the battery bank while riding for extra range & can be removed & used as a regular gas generator when you don't need it in the scooter for the extra range.

I'm also a Honda fanboy. The main reason I never got into Yamaha are the seat heights. You mentioned in another video that you're 6' tall. I'm 5'-6" with a 30" inseam. Any bikes with a 30.5" seat or taller, I struggle.

I owned a Yamaha R1 2006 (great bike, no electronic aids) only problem was the bearing knock I met up with. Had a Honda CBR1000RR 2010, very forgiving on throttle, comfortable ride. Bought a Kawasaki ZX10R 2013, beast of a machine, I put chillies on that beast for racing and came off like a flipped pancake. Also owned a Suzuki 750 GSXR K8, very light and strong machine, kept up with the 1000cc riders and nimble like the 600. All in all a bike is a bike, you just have to go with what you like as long as it's 2 wheels then it's life!!!

Yamaha makes the best and most interesting engines. Honda is the most reliable and has the nicest fit and finish of all Japanese makes that’s why they’re usually more pricey .

I love yamaha for sound and power, full fairing sports bikes. But man, they are the most uncomfortable sports bikes long distance. I own a cbr650r and a bmw s1000rr. Cbr is for just chill rides with friends, and the bmw is for back road gunning and track days. I take it on longer journeys due to cruise control as well, and it's great.
@bgsmember365015 сағат бұрын
Last I checked, Yamaha had the lowest reported rate of defects of any motocycle manufacturer. It's been a few years though. Honda and Yamaha basically tie for best made motorcycles.

With the big caveat being that Honda sells more motorcycles so that number might be skewed a little. Even still Yamaha gets you more smiles per mile on the dollar

Nice! I held of for many years getting one because I just didn't think the bike was powerful enough to be exciting but I was wrong. The bottom end punch and awesome CP2 sound makes for an awesome little bike.

@CycleCruza I thought the same about the power but the bike is so low weight that I had to mentally make sure to be gentle when accelerating or that front end would become airborne real quick.

Suzuki does indeed make good stuff, but i feel their more premium bikes are their good stuff. for lower priced/lower end models, you get A LOT more bang for your buck with a Honda or a Yamaha.

I agree you as a Yamaha fan too. Rumour is that they even have the piano tuners work with Akra to get the best sound out of the exhaust !! Plus Toyota give engines to Yam techs to tune them for more power. The whole ethos of the company is about making sure the ride really revs the heart!

I’ve always been a Yamaha fanboy and I’ve owned a couple of Hondas and a Kawasaki too. I’m still debating my next bike though, between a mt07 or a Suzuki SV650. I like the old Ducati look of the SV and the V-twin actually sounds better to me than the parallel twin with a good exhaust

I put over 100,000 miles on a 2005 R6 I’ve had 2 other r6s and a r1 that was 18 years old. Never let me down. Even with a dead battery they still took me home. Honda- my buddy frank stunt road a 2006 600rr and he put a beating on that bike I don’t think even a Yamaha would have held up too. Honestly the abuse he put that poor bike threw was unreal. Years of throwing that bike from wheelie to sideways on concrete all I ever heard him say he needed replaced was a fuel pump. Which is understandable being that bike was on one wheel more often then not

Chooozuki! I think the engines frames and gearboxes are the best. Also their new electronics interfaces are the most intuitive imo. Kids and immature adults don't like suzuki because they dont updatewith the newest junk every 4 or five years. And they tend to build a bike a little bit heavier. I think yamaha makes cool shit but I think they cheap out in the wrong places when building to a price and they waste tons of money on advertising-brainwashing

I bought one beginning of last year. It's an awesome motorcycle, easily the best bike I've ever owned. Except for the rear shock, it was not good so I replaced it with a Nitron N3. I put hard panniers on it and did long road trips on the highway, I took it to trackdays where the traction control system will make you feel like a GP hero, I stuck a big ol' windjammer screen from Dart on it and cruised downtown. It's very much a UJM but in a good way. The bike can do everything really well. Also, the insurance is ridiculously cheap.

I have the same opinion, Honda’s are great bikes but they just seem so sterile. But the new CB1000 Hornet looks different, it looks like it actually has character.
@welfare_baybee14 сағат бұрын
You'll never have a problem with a Honda but they're a little sterile.. Yamaha was always the holy grail as a kid growing up in the 90s and that blue is amazing.
@CycleCruza14 сағат бұрын
Yeah Honda is pretty vanilla these days. Honda used to make more exciting bikes. I remember when the CBR900RR first came out and my late brother got one. It was a badass back then. Even when the 2008 CBR1000rr forst came out it was dominating the shootouts, same with the 2007 CBR600rr. Now Honda bikes are ok but not on that next level of excitement like they used to be. Yamaha has always been great too but now Yamaha is better than ever.

I think i trust Yamaha over any other maker. My 22 Z900 has let me find neutral ALL OVER the gearbox and i do think it might kill me someday. full throttle, 130mph, 3rd to 4th, engine screams as it gets stuck floating between gears. kick it up fulling into 4 just doesnt sound great over 70... that was first experiance. Its been 2 to 3, 4 to 5, 5 to 6. jesus christ i didnt know i was a lazy shifter until i bought this bike. is it me or the bike? My bike order starting 2009. Lifan 200, 05 R1, klx250sf, FZ07, dlx250, 22 Z900... i had 40+ thousand miles on motorcycles before ever finding neutral before my Z.
