I should have been riding along that route last week with a few of my cycling buddies on a planned three day Newcastle trip. However, I had to pull out at the last minute because of a stomach bug.

Yes I totally understand. Katie and I both had that awful Norovirus (vomiting bug) recently so we could not get out... I hoe you are all well now though and there will always be another day to ride just take care of your health first

Thank you very much 😁 Yes we did park in the eden park just before Beamish museum on the left but I am not sure about it being closed. The times on google are all over the place with it being open from 3pm until midnight ???? Weird 🤔

Hi John, another interesting video, which track would I take to get to the tyne pedestrian tunnel from Stanley once I hit Washington

Thank you 😁 Katie and I have talked about going through the tyne pedestrian tunnel but we haven't done it yet so i am sorry but I am not sure of the route. Its something I need to look into. If you find out please let me know was we want to try it out

​@@JohnonaBikeHi guys. Great video. If you want to get from that path to the Tyne cycling tunnel then you need to leave NCN7 near the wildfowl centre and head towards Nissan. There is then a traffic free route that runs parallel to the A19 all the way to the tunnel. Cross the A19 on the big footbridge and just keep heading north. It's mostly obvious and signed from the A184 (nr the BMW dealer).

Just to expand a little, as you say, near Wildfowl Centre, just after a Ferguson Transport Depot, there is a small blue sign, onto a road/track which takes you round the edge of an ASDA warehouse, to a bridge over A1231. Keep following tarmac track, past a Fire Services facility, and, you will come onto Cherryblossom Way, alongside Nissan. Then, you will come to A1290 (Downhill Lane), which runs along front of Nissan, with Battery Factory on your left (as at Aug 2024, still under construction). Keep ahead until you come to pedestrian/cycle bridge over A19. After crossing bridge, head North, still following the tarmac cycle route, cross Downhill Lane at lights, then, follow gravel track alongside A19. You will emerge at A184, near BMW dealer, cross road, and keep heading North on tarmac cycle track. Just after going over A19 again, at lights (just before Heron Shop), cross, and follow cycle track alongside A19. Cross A194 (carefully, there are lights), and keep heading North. Hope that helps.
