Cycling in Isle of Bute (Day trips from Glasgow without a car!) 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Scotland, UK | VLOG
My husband and I have recently been into cycling and so we've made it a point to explore many parts of Scotland via our Orbea E-bikes!
This time, we cycled around Isle of Bute. If you're without a car, a trip to Isle of Bute is easily accessible via public transport here in Scotland from Glasgow. We got the train from Glasgow Central Station to Wemyss Bay Train Station and then from there, took a ferry to Rothesay in Isle of Bute.
We cycled around 25+ miles in total, from Rothesay to Kilchattan Bay to Scalpsie Bay and then back to Rothesay again. It was a relatively easy cycle around Isle of Bute, mostly flat roads with some elevation gains but definitely easy for beginner cyclists who want to try their hand at traveling via bicycle.
I would highly recommend visiting Isle of Bute regardless because it's such an underrated island here in Scotland with plenty of things to see and do. Other than the bays and beaches I showed in the video, you can also hang out at Rothesay and do some outdoor mini-golfing, or even visit one of my favourite houses ever in Scotland called Mount Stuart!
Definitely check out Isle of Bute when you have a chance and if you have a bicycle, CYCLE!!!

In times past the traditional Glaswegian's holiday was a trip " doon the watter " which meant a boat trip ( sometimes from the Broomielaw in central Glasgow ) to any of the coastal towns on the Clyde like Rothesay , Dunoon, Brodick or even Ayr and Campbeltown.
