Cycling in kurdistan - riding bike in kurdistan - kurdish cyclist

After we decided to take another adventure and we made a successful plan
Me and Mr Nezmi with Mr Sahand in 6 October 2023 we decided to go to Duhok city by bike from Hawler city then to go to Zakho city.
We start our journey at 6:20 am in Hawler city in 150 meters road (Duhok gazna road) after riding 37 kilometers we took the first rest in (chama bridge) then we ride our bike until we reached (chra) from (Rovya) road we took another rest and we ate something at (chra) after that we ride our bike and we reached (bahadre) also we took another rest and we drunk something in there, after that we reached the tough road because we reached a vally and theres no flat road its up hill we reached (brifka restaurant) and we drunk a kurdish tradishnal tea after that we ride our bike and we reched Duhok main security check also it becomes evening and night we ride our bike and at 7:00 pm we reached Duhok center our last point in Duhok was (square gali) we directly went to the hotel and we took a shower then we went to a restaurant we had a delicious meal,
We took a round at night and we slept at 11:00 pm
I think we slept well because we were tired.
the day after in 7 October 2023 we woke up in the morning at 7 am we went a beautiful and well known restaurant in Duhok to eating a special breakfast and we had a great breakfast in (safeen restaurant) at 8:20 am we started our journey in the center of Duhok we ride our bike from Duhok to zakho after riding more than 20 kilometers we took a rest in a gas station then we continued our journey again and after a while we decided to visit a small farm to eat some tomatoes and cucumber we went a farm and we bring some tomatoes it was really delicious I want to say thanks for the owner of farm who gave us tomatoes after that we ride our bike and we reached (zakho tunnel) in front of the tunnel there were a police man we stopped at there and the police man told us you can’t go through the tunnel by bike because the tunnel is too long and there’s no oxygen in the tunnel and he said there is no special road for bike it’s too danger he said it’s impossible to go by bike , then he stopped a mini truck for us and we took our bikes in the back of the mini truck it was really great decision I want to say thanks for the police man he really helped us after we reached the end of the tunnel we get off the mini truck and thanks for the driver after that we ride our bike until we reached (Dalal bridge) it was the last point of our journey at 12:20 pm we arrived zakho safe and sound , we went a restaurant and we had a great meal after that we went to (Dalal Bridge) again we took some photos and videos also Mr hoger came to see us and too make a special video for us and to share in social media palt form thanks for him.
We meet one of our friends in zakho he had a pickup car we took our bike in the back of his car then he drove to Hawler and we took a taxi from Zakho to Hawler but when we get in the taxi after a 5 minutes something’s happened Its funny and strange but I dont want to share in here if you want to know what happened in the taxi you have to contact me .
In the first day of our journey from Hawler to Duhok

In the second day of our journey from Duhok to zakho
Distance: 56 KM
Duration: 4 hours

Mandi nabn. Last month, I did the same trail from Duhok to Erbil. It took me around 12 hours, including long breaks. It was an amazing experience, but the road is not ideal for cycling at all. Hope to see your other adventures in Kurdistan.

Thanks for your comment Well done for you bro you did great adventure , we start our journey from hawler to duhok the next day from duhok to zakho, unfortunately our roads are dangerous and we don’t have a specific road for cyclists , keep riding.

The highway is not designed for cycling, no cycling path designation. Therefore, the excursion was a concern over security. Nevertheless, the mission was accomplished without facing any hazard. Fortunately the hiway patroll officer was around prior to entering the tunnel otherwise you would have a disaster cycling through it. In fact I was surprised, you did not get a ticket throughout the entire corridor. Really, the excursion was incompliant with traffic regulations in the cities and highway both. regardless of the construction criticism, I gave y'all an "attaboy" rating with a 4 stars. !!!

Thanks for watching my video , thank GOD we arrived safe and sound the road was a bit dangerous because there is no road for bike during our whole destination,also the policeman helped us too much they stopped a car for aus because it’s impossible going through the tunnel by bike .
