it was in July. Well, July, August and September are all good but keep in mind that weather in high mountains can be unpredictable so it depends how lucky you are on a specific day. You need to go back and see it on a sunny day ;-)

It is insane, some 25 km still up to hill. Congratulation. I beed there in 2022. I started in Slovenia from village Rateče and thru the Italy - Tarvisio, Predil pass go to "road" top on Mangart.
